What makes you think that Solange cannot or has not composed music?? Does being a singer automatically mean you cannot compose??
I'm happy for her but I do have my doubts, if I'm being honest. Composing a score is a big undertaking, it kind of requires a skill set you'd need to spend your life developing.. just orchestration alone and learning how instruments work, how they mesh together, pitch ranges, and then composing original music.. talking years and years of work here. I think what is more likely is that an experienced composer is leading the project, and she is contributing ideas.

Dolly Parton composes music. She wrote the music and lyrics for I Will Always Love You, which Whitney covered.
George Benson is one of the premier jazz guitarists. He usually does not compose his songs.
His breakthrough hit, Breezin', was composed by Bobby Womack
Composing music is specific skill set. It is separate from writing lyrics, singing, playing, or producing.
