The only thing I didn't like about the Greek stuff is these guys are supposed to be so circumspect but they're chilling in broad day light sipping coffee and meeting face to face with people like Marlo.

And Prop Joe outlining his whole system when the only end result is Marlo snaking him.

But let me chill though because I'm not a fan of season 5.

:wow: i say this all the time

it was pure luck

Avon had the drop on him and Chris at the rim shop
but fukkin Stringer snitching ass :mjcry:
them n*ggas had grenades and shyt
slim charles was right outside the rim shop with snoop chris and marlo all in his sights but he followed "chain of command" and didnt act without the order from his superior (reoccuring theme emphasized by the cops side, another example that shows what the series is all about, the similarities and overlap between the seemingly seperate 2 worlds of cops and dealers)

:mjcry:

Close, Close second. He has one of the best lines in television with his, "You want it to one way" line....

Both were calculating, but Gus really didn't have to deal with things on street level like Marlo did. Granted Marlo didn't end up with half his face blown off, but he basically had to start from beginning all over again. Gus was taking out mob bosses, risking his own life in the process. Marlo's strength was his people he was leading but once they got locked up it was a wrap. Truth be told, people were afraid of Omar than Marlo.

Yeah even Marlo's people weren't tryna have him hear what Omar was saying about meeting up. Junebug and his people get lit up for talking shyt tho unverified but Omar gets to hobble around and call him a bytch and fukk up his shyt:mjlol: Monk slips up and Chris is like:birdman::dahell:

Omar ends up mythologized, something Marlo could only dream of during his reign.

You come at the king, you best not miss.

But nah, Marlo ain't even the best "villain" on "The Wire". He was kind of a moron, actually. The sole reason he was able to flourish was #1 the Barksdale operation was in disarray and #2 the cops budget was like $5 while he was running wild. If you replace the Barksdale crew in season 1 with Marlo and his people, they get busted around episode 3.

Avon was an antagonist, Marlo was a villain.

Marlo would have killed Cutty on the spot and put his body in a vacant.

On the real. The same way you can go back and watch random movies and see Sam Jackson. you could do the same thing with Giancarlo Esposito.

Before he was Gus I always recognized him for years as the dude that killed Malcolm X.

They were both villains, Avon just had a code of honor. To say Avon was just an "antagonist" when he ran a drug empire and directly or indirectly was responsible for dozens of murder over the years....c'mon man. They had an innocent man killed in the first episode to get off D'Angelo's dumb ass.
