Just started self study, kinda loving this shyt. Sorta doing Odin project since it's free. A lot of the stuff is reading on there(with lil mini projects at the end). Did Html/CSS. Html was easy, CSS was too after I got over flexbox. Made a mock website here (meant for big screens, didnt code it for small screens) When I started the section on javascript it sorta seemed overwhelming. So took a break from it as a whole for like 3 weeks. Tried it a, but reading that shyt for Javascript just fukks with my mental. fukked around and found a torrent for some Javascript Udemy classes. Checked out the videos and was like now this............I can learn Javascript with. Liked the video so much I went and bought the legit copy (Javascript Course) and 2-3 of the top web developer ones that include a wider net of stuff.

This shyt is fukking fun man. Still only on the "fundamentals" of JS but shyt is clicking for me. I'm still following along with the Odin Project too. As I finish a section on JS I go to TOP to do that as well.

When shyt clicks it clicks and it's fun trying to figure how how to do the stuff.

I like that website bro :salute:

almost made me forgive you for being #dogset... almost :scust:

I got access to that new Github Copilot plug in last night and that shyt is legit scary. They are legit trying to put us out of a job brehs. :francis:

GitHub Copilot · Your AI pair programmer

I was running leet code questions last night with it just by using the problem statement text and it was getting all the "hard problems" right and even gave me the choice of multiple solutions with stated Big O complexities.

It's not perfect by any means and it struggles with the less clues you give it. However, that can only improve from this point.

Once they perfect this shyt, the idea of the modern programmer is dead. It might be more beneficial to hire English majors to "program" who can describe the needs of a program while hiring maybe one or two more technical individuals to troubleshoot problems that arise.

Now you know why silicon Valley types love ideas like Universal Basic Income. Get ready for your fully AI future or prepare your kids for one. The Openai framework, gpt3, underlines the Copilot and does so much more than just synthesizes code. This shyt will make many jobs obsolete.

on the flip side anyone who got experience in AI and MAchine learning will be able to eat off the hype which is another reason why i recently got back in python.

AI is far from taking over humans in any regard. Without data scraped from our solutions, that Bot would have nothing to be trained on anyway. We will be safe, at least for the next 50 years minimum.

We are not far off imo, this decade will all be about AI/machine learning. AI might not be able to completely take over this decade but im confident many repetitive tasks will be replaced. Many companies are already replacing customer service people with bots. We are already at the start of web3 right now

I predict many of us will be elderly when we see the beginnings of it taking over life completely. But i have no doubt our kids will grow up in a world dominated by it significantly.

That GPT3 model is built on like 175 billion data points I believe. They are already working on the next version of it which will be built on 100 trillion data points :damn:.

Though I wonder if it will eventually bump into a diminishing returns issue. China has more data than anyone but as far as we know they don't have any models that are better than what Google, Microsoft, and Elon Musk companies are working on. It's about how you use the data you have instead of just quantity.

I constantly hear that it a BA vs BS in computer science doesn't make a difference. I wonder what the opinion here would be. One of the schools I will be applying to when I am done with the military is FIU which has a BA and BS in Computer Science. Straight from the website it says:

"The BS in Computer Science (BS in CS) is heavy in math and science courses and the BA in Computer Science (BA in CS) is not. Some courses that are required for the BS in CS that are not required for the BA in CS is: Calculus1, Calculus 2, Physics with Calculus 1, Physics with Calculus 2 and Senior Project. Also, the BS in CS degree is accredited by ABET and the BA in CS degree is not."

What caught my attention is that the only math pre-requisite that's required for the BA is PreCalculus, which would save me a lot of time. I find this path very attractive because of this. However, I do not want to shoot myself in the foot when it comes to applying to jobs after graduation. Also, the lighter workload would give me more time to work on projects and practice leetcode but I am willing to grind out the BS if it is the safer option when it comes to job prospects.
