Breh How long would it take me to learn how to build my own cross platform app with very little knowledge?
you have no knowledge?
if so it might take 6 months(optimistic)- 1 year(realistic)
for starters I'm assuming you're talking about building an app for iOS and android.
you would have to know swift programming for apple
java or kotlin for android
there's also flutter that lets you build apps for both ios and android
learning these languages could take 3 months if you make it a goal.
then you have to practice building apps for it.
depending on what the features of the app are it will change the timeline a bit
there's also app studios that build the app for you but they can be expensive.

Without knowing specifics of the project because breh hasn't given any yet....

What do you think of his budget of 50k for this project?

that's a good price but depending on what the features are they might charge him more
A lot of studios nickel and dime the cost because they can.
design sometimes costs 10k-15k by itself
then creating the basic features could cost another 10k
the more extensive features likes in app payments, gps, messaging etc can cost another 10-20k because of the man hours
Companies spend like 100-200k for some of the most basic apps sometimes.
He would have to shop around and find a studio that works with him
the less he spends the worse the app will be .
also don't go overseas for various reasons

@humminbird is right on 6-12 months in the very least. You've got to decide on a technology and then learn how to use it. The quickest way to get where you want to go on your own would be to find a tutorial tangentially related to what you want to make, then start branching off as you get comfortable so you can tailor it towards your end goal. I did similar when I was going through an Angular tutorial so I could make a rental property management website. If you're consistent with how much effort you put in then you'll have an easier time and be able to solidify the concepts.

I'm finally in the process of learning Angular and the best way for me to really retain the information is through a project. So I racked my mind for a short while and eventually settled on what might be a pretty decent idea which if executed and scaled properly could be monetized well. It's real estate related and targeted sort of towards the average person. I don't want to give too much away :whoa: but it goes to show that if you're looking for project ideas stay in your wheelhouse and focus on things or problems that interest you.

Design docs in production.

Did you ever do anything with your idea bro?

No, it was just a good distraction for myself. Got denied a spot at Amazon I was so sure of after I graduated and I was bitter as fukk, stopped practicing algorithms. I said if I'm going to do something, I might as well learn something new and do something for me, so I started learning Angular and trying to create a rental property management system. I think I got like 70% of the way to minimal viable product before getting back in the game for interviews.

I'm not breh lol. I'm assuming you're talking about a post I made about them in TLR. I was just mentioning they do get paid more.

I wish I did though.
Well, not according to a TeamBlind comment I ran across by a "Dr. Acula" working at Amazon. I immediately recognised that name from here and I also remember a post from you years ago talking about being rejected bad for a FAANG grad position that you thought you nailed .....or maybe im mixing up posters:patrice:

:dead: nah I was reading comments and his name immediately got my attention like "wait a minute, this name looks familiar. Aint this the coli Breh from the 6 Certs forums?", then I came back here to verify.

:ohhh:

Maybe it's him and he just acting like it isn't cause he don't wanna be outed.

I mean it makes sense.

If you worked at Amazon, would you want that attached to your coli account?

I wouldn't :lolbron::pachaha:
