Anybody ever run into a scenario like this:
I'm running an installation script with sudo. The script then tries to run some other binary as sudo but it gets permission denied. Anyone know how to fix this without me hacking away at this script? I'm trying not to change it because it's provided by another team.

Was checking out Hacker News this evening, and they were sharing the link to the book "3D Math Primer for Graphics and Game Development".

Link: https://gamemath.com/

I'm really excited to read it. It's going to be the next book I read after the "You don't know Javascript" series.

I don't think I ever really talked about my aims and goals in this thread. I want to be a full stack programmer and developer in every sense of the word. For me, it's not so much about money. I mean, I'm sure that will be a great perk but the truth is... I'm interested in the knowledge. Knowledge truly is power. And having the knowledge and ability to build whatever I want to build in this increasing tech society will be worth more than any amount of money that anyone could ever pay me.

So I want to learn front end, back end, I want to delve into low level languages, architecture, everything. I'm going to have to seriously brush up on my math, I know my failings lol, but I don't mind.

Right now, I'm trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can. I have a hunger and thirst for this, and it's stronger than any desire I've ever had in my life. I can't even explain it right now. If I'm not working, I'm spending every moment reading or learning or studying. It's hard, don't get me wrong, and sometimes I come to the brehs on here for help. But no matter how hard it is, I am not discouraged. It just excites me even more.

My only regret is that I didn't start this journey sooner. I can't wait to learn more and put my tribe on. I want my whole family to learn this, and I'm going to make sure to teach my children. Even if they decide to go in a different direction, at least they will have the knowledge.

So I'll be done with college this December, and been thinking of applying for jobs in October or even earlier.

Do companies hire soon-to-be graduating students? Or do they prefer for them to be completely done ?

I only have 3 classes left to take. One being virtual and the other 2 on Sundays.

Yes, they will hire, and plus your class is on the weekend so it shouldn't affect work.
Waiting near graduation is a bad idea.
Apply for jobs now.

Brothers how often does someone go from programming or software development to cyber security?

Reason I'm asking is because the way Biden is talking today, it sounds like the government is finally ready to invest in cyber security. Wondering how easy (or hard) it would be for me to cross into that industry from coding and programming.

There’s alot of ways you can leverage your development background in security. Especially in the cleared space. Get a CISSP and a TS clearance you basically qualify for any government position. Even a regular secret and security+ will bring you good money.

I’ve seen 400k listings for roles with security/dev crossover experience. Clearancejobs.com is a good resource. Alot of the bigger contractors will sponsor you for a clearance.
