If you're trying to be a Java backend developer do you HAVE to learn JDBC? The shyt is verbose as fukk. In Spring Boot you could do the same thing in 1 line that would take JDBC 10+ lines to write. Sure I could lookup tutorials and documentation to use JDBC if I had to but folks are acting like you have to know this shyt like the back of your hand.

Because it's so useful you can whip up a web server in 5 mins :blessed:

It's a very bare and simple language reminds me of C but actually useful

And it being statically typed is really the main reason I like it.

The bad things are the packaging shyt and you must use a package you imported :gucci:

Man Go has given me hope with development. It being statically typed has really helped me get the basics down. Python I was constantly trying to remember what everything was despite it looking clean.

Anyone looking to do App Sec definitely check out GO. Coursera has a new 3 part course that's free if you want to audit it.

They ghosting a lot out here.:francis:

What kind of jobs have you been applying for? Like Web Developer or general
Software Engineer jobs? Are you only applying for one specific language like only Python jobs? and are you applying just to local/ in state jobs ?

I have semesters 4 left and I been thinking about employment a lot lately.

I'm generally search by languages, and for positions Web/Software Developer. Local and out of state jobs. You'll do okay but I'm going to keep telling folks to not come here and work. My tech friends are employed and they said it was trouble.

lol I bet this girl is better than all the idiot bootcampers flooding the market

Note: My post is sarcastic. I know there are some bootcampers in here who'll get offended by my post. Chill. It's a joke.

nothing like getting ghosted after an hour and a half in-person

I've been working since 2006 and this ghosting shyt has seemed to get worse and worse over the past 3 or so years. Back in 2010-2012 when I entered the "real" workforce I never got ghosted after an interview. Nowadays you can count on being ghost by the vast majority of places you apply to. I really don't think they realize how much they are shooting themselves in the foot when they refuse to send a simple rejection email. I have a list of at least 15 companies who I've had at least a phone screening with these past few months that ghosted me and I'll never be applying to those places again.

Finding an xlst 2.0 library for python is like pulling teeth, they want me to install a JVM or compile straight from c :hhh:

Switched back to .net and that shyt is part of the standard library. Say what you want about Microsoft but no one does the boring stuff better:sas1:.

Honestly you just have to be chill with your co workers and network at these conferences when you have a job and stock these connections up for when times are lean. Cold applying for these jobs in 2019 is rough :sadcam:. My best friend has a phd in the hard sciences and even he gets ghosted :snoop:

Anyone in here is familiar with learning VBA and macros for excel? Is it difficult to learn on your own? I'm planning to learn it to help boost my career.
