Can you go more into detail about the job? I've seen a YouTuber also mention it as a good position to get your foot in the door :ohhh:
My buddy worked at an advertising agency, and brought me on as a intern. They had a lot of contracts with companies where they would manage their newsletters through mail chimp.
I would get a photoshop file from the designer and then I would recreate it with html and inline css. Then I would upload it to mailchimp , run it through all of the email client simulators, send it to everyone in the office for final approval (when you look at something for a long time you lose the ability to really judge it well) In my experience you basically create a template and then just tweak it.

edit: If I were you I would find a template, tweak it, and then make an email html version of your resume. get a free mailchimp account and send yourself the emails so you know what they look like

If your'e trying to get your first job in tech, yeah it's going to be quite difficult and if you're mediocre and not dedicated, then yes... but if you are skilled, the salaries will keep going up because they need people that know what they are doing

5 years in and I still don't know what that looks like :russ:. Every tech lead I've had has very different opinions about good programming vs bad programming, people on the internet are arguing about cutting edge languages like go and rust and 75% of the internet is still php.

The secret is to make it seem like you know something and being able to work with people who have at least a bit of direction to make things work. Works everywhere but research.

Well I would say skilled is when they need something done, you can get it done and in a timely fashion and you can code cleanly. A lot of codebases for even these major corporations are duct taped together.

Go is an ugly language :scust:. I'm picking it up to build a tool and I keep asking myself why?

Because it's so useful you can whip up a web server in 5 mins :blessed:

It's a very bare and simple language reminds me of C but actually useful

And it being statically typed is really the main reason I like it.

The bad things are the packaging shyt and you must use a package you imported :gucci:

I actually think making you use what you import is a good feature :pachaha:. But I went through hell just trying to get a parsing library to work on just a simple example. I might be have to run back to Java to do everything I'm trying to do.

What's interesting is that the STEM fields used to be the least racist job markets in society. Scientists, engineers, astronauts, etc. didn't give a shyt if you were black, gay, Muslim, or a woman. Now with the rise of Trump I'm starting to notice some of these supposedly smart people adopting far-right wing tendencies. It's usually young white males in their 20s. The whole white victimization propaganda spearheaded by Fox News and alt-right personalities are starting to seep into these people's minds.

Somewhat controversial opinion but I think this aggressive campaign to get everybody into coding was created by billionaires and multinational corporations. When their companies move towards automation they can hire less humans and save money. Imagine being the CEO of a billion-dollar eCommerce giant and 1% of your work force is humans while the rest are just robots?
I wouldn't make any extrapolations based off of this one resume that went viral.

The job might be in the STEM world, but it is just a job search for a glorified account manager. Even the Job Function states Sales & Business Development.

Just made an Android app that looks and works just like the Uber Eats driver app to get free food :lolbron:

At a lot of restaurants that use Uber Eats such as McDonald's line up all the orders on the counters with the order numbers taped on to them. So with my app you can go into an Uber Eats restaurant and read one of the order numbers and then enter it into my Uber Eats clone app. Then the screen changes to a screen that looks exactly like the Uber Eats driver app with the order number on there. Show it to the restaurant employee and they let you take the food

Gotten 3 free meals so far :ahh:

I'm calling it Uber Cheats :mjlit:
