Indeed - companies sell these things to the poor/uneducated because they are statistically more likely to buy them. Simple as.

I think most people are just dumb, and enjoy being followers (sheep,trend hoppers, dikkriders). The ability to think for yourself is severely handicapped in our modern society.

There's also the stigma (particularly in America) where if you're smarter than someone, you think you're "better" than them. And thus people take a defensive stance when really it should be a "I want to share in knowledge that I lack" type situation

I can understand the cockiness coming from educated / successful people, but others should also be open to listening to some of the game they're spitting and maybe they'll be fortunate enough for some of the enlighten ways of thinking to "trickle down" to them
