Who some cats like lil pete n mike sherm
They all pretty unique for the most part, so I'll just post up newer bay cats.
Yatta is locked up for a long time, Lil Pete spoke about it on his album. From SF, he been posting freestyles on his Instagram from jail, makes me believe he was still getting better. His song Get It In w/ Yase and Play are highly influential.
GVal is also from Frisco, makes music that is a lil bit further away from street shyt and closer to motivational, turnt music. His first collabo tape with Yase had HEAT.
Lil Air dropped a tape not too long ago, I need to check it out. Has a song called "Heard" that I'm rocking with. I think he's actually from the same hood as Yatta and Yase. Hopefully the tape got some gas on it.
I posted up about oakland's AllBlack here. Fasho check his shyt out he's getting some hype now. All black is who you need to check for right now, he's one of the more polished rappers, got label backing, it's just that he's not radio friendly at all lol.
Lil Yee got hella potential. His first tape Cita Son was good, but I still don't think he reached his ceiling. He working on a tape with Lil Pete. He only on the hook on this song, but I think it's the best track on Slimmy's album, largely due to Yee's hook imo too. His tracks So Lost, Illest are some of my favorite, but he really building an impressive set of features and songs. Want to see him grow moving forward fasho.
Here's a few slaps from the past few years that also need some love:
It's hella other artists too man. The whole HBK clique, Remedy, JT the Fourth, OMB Peezy, Lil Kayla, J.Cash 1600, Project Poppa.. the biggest issue with the bay is that they don't collab enough and they don't stay focused on this music as much as they should. Looks like Empire might be the umbrella that unites the bay, but it's still remained to be seen.
