Yeah, all these guys are looking out for one another.

No different than Bush/Cheney with Haliburton and all those other corps they were buddy buddy with.

Don't even start me on them. They lie to the public to start an unwinnable war just to enrich their lobbying buddies who control the military industrial complex. And all at the expense of the taxpayers and the poor cuz the poor people are the mostly ones who enlist in the military and fight/get killed in order to make these politicians all millionaires.

Why though? In terms of his fitness to be president, I'm not seeing why this is a big deal. Yea, most of his income is from investments... and?

The tax laws or Mitt Romney?

The president can change tax laws though. We were running a budget surplus until Bush lowered the capital gain tax to 15%.

Capital gains in its very essense is making money without lifting a finger.

I mean the more the workers of the jobs produce the better the stock does and the more Romney makes. Without adding any value.

When you take it for what it is Capital gains tax should be 100%

Well, Warren Buffett talked about that not too long ago. Taxes on investment profits are taxed at a lower rate than earned income. It's not a crime. It's a tax loophole.
The US government should go to flat income tax rate for all so that everyone, poor, middle-class and rich pay the same percentage. The creation of the graduated income tax rate caused people to push for all these exemptions which are really loopholes.
Flat tax, no exemptions, no loopholes.

Anyway $13+ million in 2011??? That's a lot of dough.

NO!

Flat tax is inherently regressive.

The way our economy works people have to get stepped on and fukked over for someone to reach the top.

Those people at the top owe it to the American economy to pay a much higher tax rate.

It would also escalate the problem that is income inequality.

Increasing the rates on the poor/middle class while lowering the rates for the rich

Totally agree with those first two sentences.

Rich will always get richer. We the middle class will always shrink. Poor will remain poor. Its been like this against the beginning of time and will never change.Whats funny is if we were in Romney;s spot we would try to find loopholes too. Im not defending ths prick, but he is taking advantage of a weak system. How much did :obama: pay?

This isn't at all surprising. Most of his income is capital gains.

This is why I want to run my own PE shop someday so then I can pay <20% tax and be a millionaire too, brehs :to: :sadcam:

If anything, this should inspire you all to make passive income and build businesses, because the tax code is structured this way to incentivize risk taking. If we taxed capital gains the same as income, you could forget about Silicon Valley and Wall Street existing.

Instead of whining about Mittdawg being intelligent enough to take advantage of the tax system, you all should be emulating his behavior by saving any discretionary income you have and putting it in the stock market instead of wasting it. Then maybe in 10-20 years you all could accumulate enough investments to live off your returns.

lol @ Romney. dude seems like a smug as hell.

That's why he can't get away with being rich or having rich friends like most these dudes that run for president....dude seems like the rich azzhole in every movie who's trying to destroy the world...or the dude the young good guy is trying to stop the perfect woman of his dreams from marrying bcuz he's really a azzhole but he's good at hiding it from her and the world,so the good guy gotta expose em by the end of the film to get his girl back......he is the stereotypical image for every rich white man since the beginning of time:laugh:...it may not be fair but he just can't help himself:laff:...dude would need a face and personality transplant to not come off like that...Bush wuz rich but he came off like a regular dude....romney can't fake like he ain't disgusted by broke peple lol
