Also the US is pushing the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan to try and "contain" China like they did Russia. The only problem is this isn't the 1960's and China isn't Russia.
Because at no point was Russia even close to being the largest economy on earth.
China accomplished that in 2017 according to Purchasing Power Parity. Which the press didn't want to talk about for obvious reasons.
And China is the main manufacturer for *American* goods to the point that even US plates are made in China.

Slow your role buddy. China flexing has caused their neighbors to work with America. Russia was always a threat to America not anymore of course. China will never be able to flex on America because it doesn't control shipping lanes or ally with any of its neighbors. America is surrounding them like Russia.

The Chinese military would get hoed out worse than Russia, and the Russians had the reputation of being the world's second best Army, having seen actual and recent combat. All those first sons would get slaughtered and China's demographic collapse would accelerate. But hey, a spy balloon is impressive too, I guess.
