You do realize that's going to mean publishers will phase out games sooner, right? When a new iteration of a game drops, they will simply shut down the previous games servers and dead multiplayer for it, forcing you to buy the new version.

nope that's not how azure will be set up to work, it will essentially be game The servers are game blind. The servers will be able anything from 2 people playing to millions of instances of any game on anyday. If everyone decided call of bad booty 5000 was better then call of bad booty 6000 the servers will automatically allocate resources. they're all in unison

Fam, you've been wrong about nearly everything Xbox One related so far, how are you going to sit here and say what will work and what won't? With how much MS is catering to publishers "rights", do you really think they won't have the ability to shut down servers for a game when a new version drops? They already do that now, you don't need a dedicated multiplayer server up and running to run a check on a game.

that's why they're moving to dedicated servers, they're MS's Azure servers not P2P publisher servers. As Dan From Turn10 said Every publisher will have the ability to use the servers fo rwhatever reason. Not unrealistic totally obvious if they want to move on to cloud compute.

:snoop: Than, how come PC Gamers aren't charged for online multi-player than? MMOs, FPS, & Online Multi-Player were prominent on PC long before they were on consoles.

:russ: At nikkas who think the price of Xbox Live won't go up.
What you are doing here is comparing PC's architecture vs XB1's set-up to discredit XBL
Not once have you compared PS3/4's setup to PC. Would you at least compare PS3/4's to XB1? I hear XB1 has dedicated servers for all games. Sony doesn't even have control of PSN as of TODAY (I'm not lying ladies and gentleman) But lets blindly act like a positive for XB1 is a negative because PC gamers don't pay for XBL. Prices of XBL remains the same, it carries over to both systems. Already announced. You'd of known that if you wasn't biased/troll/fanboy/loser
Honestly Live should have dedicated servers since you're paying for it.
It will, plus dozens of other features to go right along with them. You already love smartglass/espn/etc. Didn't I tell you to calm your ass down :birdman:
:comeon:

You woke up and was like

:lupe: How can I spin all the negative attention from Microsoft and flip it on SONY

Yeah, Malta seems to be oblivous to what the "cloud" is there for in the first place :snoop: I'm sure it was just an honest mistake. I'll see you all at E3 when I come through like Pink Cookies in a plastic bag :king:

they all should copy the PC model. dedicated servers are operated by private individuals. those individuals can ask for donations to cover costs, and kick people from the server to let a paying player in if need be. no need to reinvent the wheel.

but seriously, since you are paying for live, this shouldnt even be an issue. they should give you dedicated servers by default.

But dedicated servers was never needed for consoles in the past. To add that to the console experience its going to take a lot of resources to do that.

Dedicated Servers by default: Xbox One console exclusive :salute:

Lord knows they need dedicated servers. Online in Halo 4 was lagnificent. Teleporting players was crazy :skip:

Why do you keep blaming xbl for your home cricket services lack of consistent internet speeds? Most gamers don't experience the propaganda you selling. What your talking about can happen in any game with you in it. Dedicated servers will separate the real from the fake

See you @ E3!!!

it doesnt take any extra resources. the next gen consoles are more powerful than the old PC i had when i was playing quake 3 over dial up. all that was needed was a game designed to allow it, a dedicated server (either one you create or one you rent), and players connecting to it

and it seems some people are disputing this rumor about xb1. is there any definitive quote from an MS exec saying it?

:comeon: na u can keep that pc shyt, just look at how bf3 fukked up they servers by letting people own there own servers, i would much rather let the game developer or publisher provide the servers, i rather have a matching making system that matches players of the same skill together, no a servers noobs and pros jump on together and one team get destroyed, i want good competetive matches

that's dice's fault, not dedicated server's fault. the developer has full control of the server browser, dice chose what they chose. they could have chosen better, maybe BF4 will let people find more noob-friendly games. already there are servers that have the word noob in the title...

:what: nikka, you didn't even answer my question in my original OP. You just somehow spinned it positive for Microsoft & XBL. We don't don't even know if XBLG will remain the same price or not. Microsoft just said CURRENT subscriptions will carry over. They didn't say anything about price for new subscriptions. The reason I compared Xbox Live to PC Gaming is because "Xbox Live Gold" is a rip-off compared to "Steam" or even the inferior "Origin". I like how you tried to change the subject by telling me to the other comparisons.

And I'm not a biased fanboy. I've already made it clear if Sony tries to imitate Xbox Live by charging for Online MultiPlayer & access to apps, I'm out on Consoles. I'll just buy an "Alienware X51" or "Steambox" and use that as my Gaming PC/HTPC.
