An example of what I'm talking about is "nikka What, nikka Who", "Is That Your Chick", "Money, Cash, Hoes", and "Banned From T.V." are anthems that without really being radio hits.
All of these songs were singles though and got heavy play. With the exception of course of Banned From TV, I would expect that one to get a muted response at Summer Jam.

Two things though, first, who cares about the general public? Whether a casual fan bought an album has no bearing on whether that album is good.

Two, we’ve all bought albums that were wack. You don’t buy an album after having listened to every available album extensively and determining which one is the best. You buy an album because you like the rapper, or you like the single, or features, or you like their last album, etc.

Quality is opinion, but there is a general consensus amongst heads as to which albums are high quality
We are the general public. "Heads" are no more important than the rest of the general public.

timbo is more versatile.. but this battle shyt cators to swiss

This here.

Tim is a much better producer. It's not even close. But Swizz has better joints for battles and live performances. There's a certain energy there and he's really good at hyping the beats when he plays them. That comes from deejaying. Tim's joints are sonically, technically and musically better, but they don't bang the way that a track from Swizz would, onstage. There's an art to battling, and Swizz has the right kinda tracks to make it happen.

They were late singles though. Not really the typical, blatant, "I'm aiming for Top 40" joints. Those were B sides that just happened to get on radio. None of those songs were big hits in the way that "Big Pimpin", "Dirt Off Your Shoulder", "Ruff Ryders Anthem" or "Party Up" are.

asically, it'll come down to:

Missy- Sock It 2 Me
Jay Z- nikka What, nikka Who
Jay Z- Big Pimpin'

Missy- Hot Boyz
Missy- Get Ur Freak on
Bubba Sparxxx- Ugly
Petey Pablo- Raise Up
Ludacris- Roll Out
Memphis Bleek- Is That Your Chick?
Lil' Kim- The Jump Off
LL Cool J- Headsprung
Jay Z- Dirt Off Your Shoulders

The Game- Put You On The Game
Lloyd Banks- I'm So Fly
Timbaland feat. Drake- Say Something

vs.

Jay Z- Jigga My nikka
Jay Z- Money Cash Hoes
DMX- Ruff Ryders Anthem
Drag-On feat. Juvenile- Down Bottom

Styles P- I Get High
T.I.- Bring Em Out
Cassidy- I'm A Hustla
Ruff Ryders- Scenario 2000
Swizz- Money In The Bank
Jay Z- On To The Next One
The Lox- Wild Out
DMX- Get It On The Floor
Watch The Throne- Welcome To The Jungle

^^^ I posted this last year and the bolded is what they played. Didn't expect Tim to play "Work It" (that got a huge response from the crowd that I didn't expect), "Pony", "Are You That Somebody" and "Drunk In Love". I didn't expect Swizz to play "Tambourine", "What Ya'll Want", or "Party Up".

Top down is one of the greatest tracks I have ever heard. That shyt makes me feel like I'm from NY and I'm not even from the States
:wow:
"Riding with my top down, with my jewelry on hey Im just getting my hood on "
:blessed:
I still hate the fact he saved that beat for himself. :pachaha:

That sound like total fukking trash...

Nobody wanna admit this...but majority of mainstream East Coast Hip Hop sound like shyt...and Swiss Beats is part of that...collection of shyttiness

Swiss Beats instrumentals sound like somebody banging on a fukking soundboard.
Swizz basically has SOUNDS.

Timbaland has music.

And plus, Swizz is just sheer energy. His stuff is made for "battles" not for listening.

nah its just the internet.

swizz joints blow in the streets & clubs first. lol @ this "product of payola" talk.

whats funny is, theres more payola behind timbaland's chit. but you aint saying nothing about that.

you should ask this question about timbaland instead.

EVE & cassidy for starters.
meanwhile, timbaland had a superior version of Eve in ms jade, and couldn't even get a quarter of Eve's success out of her.

timbo doesn't even have a new artist to match dra-gon, let alone those two

not to mention, ruff ryder anthem is the track that propelled DMX to superstardom, and he helped saved the LOX from shiney-suit purgatory.
