We legit don't know that. Roy just didn't get hit a lot at LHW until he slowed down.

Thank you for being logical.

Not only that, we are talking about Corrie fukking Sanders. It doesn't matter if you have a chin or not, he could really fukk you up.

Rahman said he's one of the hardest punchers he's ever faced.

Only person to shake up Vitali

But he was a 4 round fighter with no gas tank...I think Roy coulda took him :manny:

Wlad was the only fighter in the division i had a hard time seeing Roy beat...i even think Roy woulda been able squeak by that old version of Lewis.

Yeah we do know. If Roy was chinny there's no way he takes these several shots & is still upright:

Look at 7:48-8:00 & you both get back to me. There's no way the Roy that went back down in weight eats these

Roy woulda definitely beat the 03/04 version of Holy...don't even think the shyt woulda been competitive.
C/s and I'm a Holyfield stan...

Lennox was at the end of his career at that point and would of had to be on his A game...

IMO Roy only would of had trouble with the Klits because those mothafukkas were too big...

Roy could of koed Ruiz if he would of went to the body more in the fight. I agree he should of stayed at HW or fought Tarver at CW. The weight dropped ruined him.

Roy wanted to move up and fight Holyfield after he beat Montell Griffin in the rematch. I remember when Roy was on the Kenon Ivory Wayans short lived talk show talking about it. Roy met Holyfield too, but Evander felt that the fight wouldn't do anything for his career at the time.

JLo was also on that show too. They reflected on how she started as a dancer on in Living Color.

RJJ will be considered a p4p great forever. Nearly perfect fighter.

Iono about that, dude was so unconventional with holes in his game

But he was so god damn physically gifted, he could do whatever he wanted to these dudes

RJJ will remain one of the best fighters I've ever seen in my life

Dude was just operating at a different speed

I agree completely. He relied on an unorthodox style that isn't sustainable once a fighter gets older. He's the complete opposite of a fighter like B-Hop (The Tim Duncan of boxing imo)

Like many others have said Roy was on top of the world and had did something that hadn't been done in like 100 years with his victory over Ruiz. Instead of Byrd Toney Holyfield and than Tyson as his final payday he decided to go back down in weight and change the whole trajectory of his career.

That Florida pride is what destroyed Roy.:mjcry:

He just had to fight Tarver. :snoop:

I remember being at the Source awards in 2003 in Miami, and when Roy and Tyson were on stage and their potential fight was brought up, the audience went crazy. That was the fight that was going to take Roy to a new plateau. It never came through and ya'll know the rest of the story.

Credit to Tarver for always crashing Roy's press conferences and constantly talking shyt in videos and interviews. Real talk, Florida nikkas will down right piss you the fukk off. Them nikkas got the biggest mouths and when they talk shyt and crack jokes its over. They never stop. I can understand why Roy fought Tarver tho. That shyt talking just finally got to him. Hell, around that time I was a big Roy fan and by then Tarver even convinced me he was being ducked (He had to fight 2 eliminators and shyt, Roy sending letters to the belt organizations to prolong shyt.) A lot of that shyt was chronicled on Boxingtalk at the time.

Tarver made it his whole life existence to beat Roy Jones Jr. He got that work as a kid and made it his life goal to get revenge. That takes some resolve, especially when you consider all of the obstacles hes faced (crackhead, Harding breaking your jaw, etc...)

Roy would have beaten a lot of the top Heavies too if he had stayed, thats the fukked up part. He'd outtalent Byrd in a decent decision type of fight. Outbox Toney again and make Holy look slow as fukk.
Ditto for Rahman. He only needed a couple of fights. Didnt even have to clean out the top ten or anything. shyt''s crazy:mindblown:

Lesson in all of this is, you gotta know your trajectory in life and stick to it. Don't allow others to force their dreams onto your path because one misstep can and will throw off everything you worked so hard to achieve.

I agree, after the Ruiz fight he should've stayed at heavyweight or retired. He had no business fighting that milkdud.

To Roy's credit he tried to be his own boss but in the 90's Don King & Bob Arum had the networks in a choke hold. Floyd was only able to do it once Don lost it & the networks were tired on Arum. Roy was the biggest star but the big fights couldn't be made without those two.
