He's also increased the police force by like 500 just to persecute "fare jumpers."

He's been weak on a lot of common-good policy, and he's mostly used his Black children as cannon fodder.

That's the political sleight of hand that most people don't even peep. They never really ended "Stop and Frisk", just moved it to the subways. They giving you a night in the bookings for jumping the turnstyle, moving between the cars, dancing on the train...anything they can to get you booked and scanned for the NYPD facial recognition database. Fukk Diblasiho :pacspit:

Don't let him fool you with that aggressive talk during the debate. He's a trash mayor without a single useful policy win (get that Vision Zero shyt and useless bike lanes tf outta here). The people of the outer boroughs (the real new york city, not just the space between 96th and Battery park ya'll see in movies) have decreased in quality of life every year since he's been in office. Housing, criminal justice, transit, economy...all worse than when bum ass Bloomberg was running the show and that dude literally put the city for sale to the highest bidders.

He's going to sound good at first on some "meh, he can't be that bad" tip :ehh: but after a year it turns into :stopitslime: and by year two its :camby:

The City Council got all these slush funds so as long as they eat, they dont gaf. Nobody of significance wanted to run last cycle so he won by default. The percentages will say he won by a landslide, but in a city of 5.5 million registered voters, he won only 750,000 votes in the general. Overall, we dead ass just not fukking with this clown

He did very well in this debate.

One reason he is hated is because he's sided with real estate in terms of developing housing. New high rise condos get built but affordable units are few and far in between. Tied to this issue is the major rise in homelessness under his administration.

Another is he's effectively turned his back on the residents of NYC Public Housing (600,000 people). The chairwoman he put in charge of the public housing agency withheld information about lead paint being in apartments. Thousands of kids suffered as a result. He refused to fire her. During January he signed a deal with the Trump Administration that prevented an independent judge from actually improving conditions for residents.

Lastly, he's always been criticized for talking the progressive talk but proceeding to go forward with standard corporatist action

If he was serious about working class people in this city:

1. He'd tax the people at the very top even MORE than they are now. There's no reason why some celebrity shmuck should move dointo Brooklyn, buy a Brownstone and price out just about every ACTUAL non-west bumblefukk sourced NYer from buying any homes in the area. When I was a kid NO ONE wanted to live here. Now people who were born and raised here or from here can't get an opportunity to live here because this doofy fukk is scared to tell the rich that we don't live here to serve them.

2. He'd stop these fukking budget cuts and hiring freezes for city agencies, which only serves to hurt the city and cripple social and public services.

3. He'd stop beefing with that other idiot Cuomo and push for the legalization of marijuana across the board.

All this and so much much more...he is a limousine liberal and is only mayor because every real NYer in this city knows that a Republican Mayor would END this city as we know it. Period.

All valid critiques which means....

So hes the perfect democrat candidate

so then you agree he's better than Giuliani and Bloomberg
Quite the opposite.

Giulianni wrecked havoc on the boroughs with his policing policies but he held the schools down and fought the state to keep the fares from going crazy. The MTA actually had a surplus back then.

Bloomberg doubled down on Giuliani's policing while destroying the schools and looked the other way when the Port Authority started their bullshyt. He was a greedy mfer but he the smoking ban and restaurant ratings/calorie count can be counted as something that went to benefit the city as a whole.

Diblasio is a combination of the worst of both of them without a single redeeming policy. Police still wilding, schools are worse than ever, UPK is a joke, It's $5.75 for a round trip ride on the subway, housing is a mess and this mfer was sleep at the wheel when 2" of snow & ice paralyzed the city for 16 hours.

I think he's done pretty well actually, a lot of the hatred directed him is misplaced.

He's achieved implementing probably the most progressive policies for the city in my life!

I also think he'll also push the rest of these fukks to the left and we need that

I don't think he has a candle stick chance in hell of getting the nomination but that doesn't matter

A cabinet position is a win for him regardless plus being the NYC he already had national recognition..

NYC media types keep their regional beefs to think the rest of the country won't fukk with him...

dude knows what he's doing out here...he's gonna be a strong cabinet secretary...

Why do you just say random shyt? De Blasio doesn't have a strong base anywhere, his endorsement doesn't matter...he has nothing to leverage into a cabinet position. And frankly, why the fukk would anyone resign from being mayor of the largest city in the United States (and the most consequential city in the fukking world) to...serve at the pleasure of the president in his cabinet for a couple years.
:hhh:

De Blasio was one of the only candidates who was actually competing last night - instead of simply parroting talking points and agreeing with everyone else. That alone has gotten him praise, but the idea that he's going to do jack shyt in this race is laughable. Maybe he goes from <1% to 3%. Congratulations....

Yep, I think he goes for education. That universal Pre-K would be a good look nationally.

Keep in mind a black man really set that program up and he left afterwards cause he was tired of the shyt. However, as we all know a white man will take credit quick.
