If he was serious about working class people in this city:

1. He'd tax the people at the very top even MORE than they are now. There's no reason why some celebrity shmuck should move dointo Brooklyn, buy a Brownstone and price out just about every ACTUAL non-west bumblefukk sourced NYer from buying any homes in the area. When I was a kid NO ONE wanted to live here. Now people who were born and raised here or from here can't get an opportunity to live here because this doofy fukk is scared to tell the rich that we don't live here to serve them.

2. He'd stop these fukking budget cuts and hiring freezes for city agencies, which only serves to hurt the city and cripple social and public services.

3. He'd stop beefing with that other idiot Cuomo and push for the legalization of marijuana across the board.

All this and so much much more...he is a limousine liberal and is only mayor because every real NYer in this city knows that a Republican Mayor would END this city as we know it. Period.

Bruh homelessness been an issue well before he got into office and most of the people homeless in NYC are mentally ill..

Second all new high rises being built must have 10% of the units available for affordable and low income housing

On that highrise issue I just want to throw out a scenario for you. Say you have a 100 unit building of 100% affordable housing and you knock it down to build a 250 unit highrise with 10% affordable housing. You just displaced 75 families. If similar situations happen throughout a neighborhood repeatedly then you can see where a lot of people are unhappy with the people responsible.

Affordable housing in big, world class cities is a problem all around the globe. We have the same problem in Toronto. Problem is the land is so damn expensive you would want to build someting that generates more income. Public housing works where land is cheap. That said, I don't even know why new yorkers who can't afford the home prices don't just move. There are plenty of nice cities in the US.

Homelessness definitely was an issue before him but we can't ignore the major increase that has occurred while he's been in office.

Regarding mental health, he allocated nearly $1 billion for his wife to start a new mental org (Thrive NYC). Despite saying its been a major success they have no real data to back it up

Bloomberg really bum rushed the real estate market in NYC with his 2 terms in office and 3rd being down right illegal

I’ll give Deblasio credit for sonning NYPD and not backing down to their union President

He's also increased the police force by like 500 just to persecute "fare jumpers."

He's been weak on a lot of common-good policy, and he's mostly used his Black children as cannon fodder.
He didn’t increase the force breh, nypd already have a hard time maintaining its target number of 38k officers and right now and for the past 10 years or so they been hovering around 33k-35k officers they are deficient, what nypd did was take officers across the city who were in details and had weekends off put them in transit so all they did was redirect personnel
