Nolan Ryan is probably the most single overrated played in the history of baseball. IMO. He was a very good player, but he was much more a freak of nature for his ability to stay healthy than for being a truly GREAT pitcher. Sure, the strikeouts and the no-nos are great...but he's also the ALL-TIME leader in walks. By a fukking MILE. Seriously, he 52% more walks than #2 on the list

Props on posting 50 pos rep but I don't agree. I think Nolan Ryans longevity and constancy put him well above many on the list. I feel some of the players haven't had a chance to prove themselves to be as good a pitcher but do have a chance before their career is over for example CC Sabathia. I also feel some of those old timer pitchers were not on the same level of play. Either way that was a good list of great pitchers but there is not reason that Nolan Ryan is not on that list. Whether he was a freak or not, the ability to pitch without getting injured is a skill. Also I would not put known steroid users on my list of top pitchers (Clemens)
