So whats the downside of living life on easy mode? (No kids/ no small kids)

i would never knock having kids, because im sure its some amazing shyt to do with a woman you love

but its also a huge financial commitment, that has too many people living the rat race, divorcing, etc. so it's not some guarantee of happiness and fulfillment or whatever. i'll be retiring 15 years before anyone i know with kids

shyt, i still remember playing mens league bball in college, and all the 35 year olds telling us "dont get married and have kids"

Life in probably 90% luck that’s out of your control. Where you were born, who your parents are, what career you have, who your coworkers are, what time period you were born in.

Finding a women who fits you is also part of that luck. Some men get lucky. The worst thing you could do is become bitter and angry that your luck hasn’t happened.

I think the upsides vary from person to person depending on who you are.

I don't have kids so I guess I can't really answer...but looking at it I would guess it's about legacy. If you don't care about legacy or your legacy is related to your work (business, arts, sports, etc.) you could probably live a long time without ever caring about kids.

From what I've seen, eventually people who don't have a defined legacy they're building look up from the daily grind/splurge and wonder what proof will remain that they ever existed. They'll have all the mid-life crisis type questions about their purpose in life and all that.

You have to keep in mind the average person will eventually reach a point of stagnation in their life. The average person is very repetitive. They work a regular job, clock in and out every day, hardly take vacations, eat at the same fast food spots, do the same thing on the weekends, etc.

Children give certain people a purpose when their lives feel otherwise stagnated and fulfill any questions they have about their legacy.

Unless you’re a celebrity, you will eventually be forgotten. Hell, unless you’re a big time celebrity, you will still be forgotten, it will just take longer

I am black sheep of my family so if I had kids, they wouldn’t be able to have much of a relationship with family, at least on my side so I don’t see the point

Downside.......I would say the downside is dealing with people attitudes and views.


U can have everything going right in life, and people will still try to pick at you about a wife and kids

U can be working at Amazon paying rent at a raggedy apartment complex abusing your girls with kids in different cities and people will not judge.

A lot of salesmen from hot dog stands to cars will have pictures of kids and even a family. It's not they kids, not they family, they went online and grabbed some pictures so they can tug at your heartstrings and make u relate to them.

It works, never done it but I've seen it happen
