They are usually garbage.

The old lady was established in the show in numerous episodes.

She wasn’t established at all except for “I’m
Sorry your husband died.”

And the actual killer, the husband, didn’t exist.

The little kid being the killer in Mare was a trash ending too but I still enjoyed that shyt and wasn't upset that it was one of the other set pieces/red herrings that I wanted to be the killer.

We saw the kid throughout Mare and knew his story. We knew he had issues.

We knew nothing about the Karen and the husband didn’t exist. Not even close to the same lol.

All they had to do was put that scene of him getting drunk and talking to the old lady earlier in episode 2-4 and that would have laid the foundations at least. Not even where she was setting up his computer just him talking about the affair. I hate when they pull shyt out of thin air like that.

I thought it was good enough until the twist.
