Same. An elite kicker like Justin Tucker or Adam Vinatieri can be a weapon. We won a fair share of games over the past few years by the leg of Gould. That TE just looks like a body though. Don't see what he brings to the table.

We traded up to address the secondary with our first pick, and the only OL/Edge player drafted since that pick was Wanya Morris. I'm not seeing who we massively missed on. We have one of the best rosters in the league, we don't have a ton of gaping holes.

I like the safety. Selecting the kicker there was a definite reach, I don't see how that can be defended. You can grab a kicker in the 5th round or later.

Justin tucker and Robbie Gould went undrafted. There is no evidence to suggest that a top kicker in the draft is actually an elite kicker, which is where the problem lies. You look at top drafted kickers thru the years and they are just as good or bad as the undrafted guys. Whereas position players are actually much better drafted than undrafted.

And another thing about the kicker pick. What if he struggles. This is a win-now team. Do we cut him? Do we say oh let's give him time to develop? A kicker drafted in the 5th seventh or u drafted just gets cut. If you cut a third round pick it will look bad. They can't possibly carry two kickers on the roster.

The kicker was a need. If they felt he was that dude that's why they picked him. I'm pretty sure no one is going to be saying that if he kicks the game winner important games. Not promised he would be there in the fifth or another kicker they felt was really good for them. It's only a reach if it doesn't work out.

Ji'Ayir Brown is one of the best safeties this draft and could be a day 1 starter or at least play in sub packages. Great pick.
Jake Moody is the best kicker in the draft and has a giant boot. Yes you can argue it was a reach. But if he has a 10-15 year career with us, no one will care.
There has been a run on TEs in this draft. Cameron Latu is not a sexy pick but he is relatively safe and can compete for the 2nd TE spot. Most boards had him as the 8th best TE available so where we picked him isn't crazy.
The crazy thing is a lot of guys I liked at O-Line and EDGE are still out there. So let's see what we do.

I only question the TE choice really.
If they was gonna go this route though…. I almost wished they selected a guy that was gonna be similar to what we had hope Jalen Hurd was gonna be for us.

It was unsexy because we traded our picks away and our primary SB rival got a TON better in the first round........and so did our primary division rival. Ain't a whole lot we could do with the draft capital we had. The grade for this draft would've always been an incomplete for me unless they figure out a way to get a first round pick by finessing another team. I'm saving my real hot ass takes for when camp starts. I think Trey is going to surprise people and put Kyle in an awkward position because of how much he clearly hates him as a QB.

I know they've been fukking up the third round picks for a while but at least you know you can have a Fred Warner upside if you do hit.
You hit on the kicker and he's as good as... some FA kicker you could've had. And if you miss on him, it's a wasted pick you gonna get clowned for. A backup TE who doesnt have a high ceiling is also a low upside pick. Kyle and Lynch think they have a fully stacked roster and will do so for the next few years. Meanwhile look at what Eagles are doing. Taking BPAs and good value all over the place.
