Jimmie Ward says the 49ers wanted to make him the highest-paid nickel in the league, but he wants top safety money

Ward said he felt like the 49ers media didn’t push him since he’s not a draft pick of the current front office. He cited how early in the season when he was injured there were multiple tweets about how safeties Talanoa Hufanga and Tashaun Gipson had high PFF grades, but never felt the same type of love when he played well.

Jimmie went on multiple rants, and they were all worth the watch. Ward doesn’t believe other safeties in the league are as valuable as him. He named how players like Minkah Fitzpatrick don’t cover the slot like he does, or that Budda Baker may not be as good of a tackler.

I like Hooker, but he ain't gonna be able to contribute this season. We have 5000 third round picks though, so I guess he could look at Hooker and get another QB as well.

They gotta decide what they're going to do at RT, though. Center as well...

In college Trey had more rushing yards in his 1 season starting than Allen had in his 2 years starting, Fields had in his 2 years starting, Kyler had in his 2 years starting, Vick had in his 2 years starting, and RG3 had in his final 2 seasons starting. Out of all the QBs mentioned in this tweet, Trey 1 season starting had the same rushing production as Hurts and Kap's best rushing years. Lamar is the only QB who is a tier above. Kyle was right to describe Trey as a dual-threat quarterback. If he's not a running threat he's a 3rd-4th round pick. I don't really have a problem with Kyle using Trey to rush, I have a problem with Trey's longest run in the league being 15 yards - the same as Mac Jones. We can all agree that Trey isn't Lamar with his feet, maybe he's not even Fields, but why the hell are Kenny Pickett and Sam Darnold better rushers than Trey?

You gotta realize Trey wasnt running against Power 5 schools.

Some of it is having a feel for when to run. Trey is much faster than Purdy, but Purdy had a better feel on when to run.

Think about it like when you playing Madden. Just taking off and running every time you not gonna get the same kinda yards. However, you know on certain plays vs certain coverages you'll have better rush lanes. Trey still hasnt figured that out yet and that comes with time.

Basically, do like the Bills do with Josh Allen. Let him run a traditional offense first so he can figure out what he can and cant get away with. Then start adding those designed runs.

Fields wasnt much of a runner in college, but now he's got a better feel for when he can use his speed.
