Brock hasn’t lost a game so I gotta agree but like you said…things change quick. If Trey starts the year out hot does Kyle make a change when Brock is ready to go?
In this scenario, Kyle wouldn't make a change

It's in the franchise's best interest for Trey to pan out, so he's gonna get his shot. But Trey's gotta make his shot count because a healthy Brock is gonna be a threat to his starting job

If this surgery goes well Brock would be ready by the time training camp starts so Trey still may not get a proper shot.

It's not a guarantee that everything will go smooth with Brock's surgery/recovery

Even if it does, he's not gonna be full-go until late August at the soonest. So a best-case scenario is Brock on a pitch count in training camp. If Trey can't beat out a less-than-100% Brock, then he probably ain't the guy

Trey has the physical talent and upside but Brocks years of QB experience give him a considerable edge. Like a LOT of scouts overlooked that in last years draft. But this is where Trey has to work extra hard and show his resilience come next year.
I have zero doubts about Trey's talent work ethic

The biggest questions with him are 1) Can he stay healthy? 2) Can he consistently make the right reads/decisions? 3) Can he consistently make accurate throws?

Brock's in-game experience does give him an edge on Trey, but this next season will be Trey's 3rd year in the league and it'll be his 2nd year taking QB1 snaps in the offseason. That matters

Why can’t both QBs be supported. It’s really odd how Trey is tossed under the bus when he was clearly at a disadvantage. They should both go into training camp with a chance to win the job. I don’t believe in players getting in the middle of shyt like this. If Trey got a shot elsewhere and balled out without given much of a chance here then we deserve that shyt. Terrible asset management.

What disadvantage was Trey at? Bro was the 3rd overall pick and got to sit all last year and learn, then got handed the QB1 job this year. If he can't beat out a gimp-armed Brock Purdy then yeah he should go elsewhere. Our asset management has been fine. This isn't a coddling team. Aiyuk was a first round pick coming off a solid rookie year and still got dog-housed by Shanahan his sophmore year. We're probably the most physical team in the league and play bully ball, if Trey can't handle this level of push and competition then I don't see how he can lead this team.

Yeah I mostly agree.

I will say that the offense Shanny ran with Trey was a disadvantage BUT it was only a game and a half and the first game was in a monsoon so not like he really had a chance to open up the playbook for Trey.

I think it’s just been bad luck for Trey. But now Purdy got injured too so he’ll have his chance to get back in the drivers seat.

I remember how everybody got mad at Kyle for how he was coaching Aiyuk last year but that tough love approach paid off for him. Same with Deebo

I think Trey not being handed the QB1 job could benefit him in the long run. He's gotta prove himself to earn a starting spot, then he's gotta keep proving himself to stay in the starting spot

Trey was handled POORLY by Shanahan. I mean it's literally eye popping. He isn't Lamar Jackson, but runs plays for him that like he is. The offense with Purdy was some shyt I haven't seen ever from Shanny. It's like he laid out the fukking platinum style offense for him. You didn't see it with Jimmy or Trey. shyt was mind boggling. To think that Trey can't run that same offense is insane.

His first year. Kyle started playing him sporadically, then the dumb ass stopped doing it. Hurts the development because he could've got chemistry with the team in game experience. Everytime he started him. It was always RPO and dumb ass run design plays. Which eventually got him hurt.

So if Trey was treated like Purdy with the offense and he sucked, then I'd be like year this kid doesn't have it. But I honestly I think it would be best for Trey to go to another team. That big earred fakkit rather have a stiff Kirk Cousins type QB. Black QBs he would rather run them 50 times a game or preferably not have them.
