This.

I feel like Timbaland's sound was more futuristic. It is evident because his sound is still being sampled and artists are still being influenced. Even some of the deep cuts.

I feel like The Neptunes lifted a lot of their sound from this track:

Timbaland's drum programming sounds like now even though its nearly 30+ years old.

I feel like Timbo's early stuff better somehow than today. Going back and hearing some stuff off Missy's album.

Tim had a better prime of making hard hitting and versatile beats but Pharrell def beats him in longevity.

Timbaland hasn't been the same after 2013.

No, he doesn't actually. Timbaland was producing critically acclaimed double platinum albums before we knew who The Neptunes were. Timbaland was competition for The Neptunes throughout their whole 2000-2006 run. In 2007, The Neptunes went through a drought and during that period, Timbaland was killing it. We didn't see The Neptunes return until 2013. Even then, Timbaland was killing it with Justin Timberlake's return, the Jay album from that year, and Beyonce's self titled album. This decade, Timbaland has been scarce, but there's J. Cole's "Amari".
