This is Bettmans hat-trick lockout. Yes the leagues making more money but C'MON. How does he still have a job?

You answered your own question. They owners are making more money. The commissioner works for the owners. It's quite simple really.

That ain't happening. His agents and his Nike contract probably won't allow it. Plus the KHL and NHL have an understanding between each other as far as honoring contracts. KHL may swerve on us though. You never know.

We'll see.

Season was supposed to start yesterday, too. :heh:

NHL has the most loyal fans and they came back in no time. Why do you think there hasn't been much progress in this lockout. NHL Owners know that they can miss a whole season and the fans will come back. But, NBC will not be happy if they miss put on the Winter Classic and the playoffs.

So you think that's cool? Already many on various boards are talking about not going to games but watching on tv, which will hurt revenue so bad because the NHL is gate driven. Another year and teams will go under.

:whoa:, I never said it was cool. I'm just saying why the NHL owners are not in a hurry to get a deal done. I still think they still get a deal before the Winter Classic happens because NBC and the NHL do not want to miss out on the revenue opportunity from that game. Unfortunately, we all should've saw this coming when the players hired Fehr and want the salary cap gone.

Okay, fair, but I think its sad the NHL fans are sheep. That's the thing. We need to make them play like baseball fans did.

You mean when the NHL owners saw that the NBA and NFL owners did what they did and said why not us. And remember Comcast which owns NBC also owns the Flyers. While I agree a deal will get done before the Winter classic the fact that NBC is also an owner makes me less optimistic.

won't happen breh. hockey fans' loyalty to their sport > any fan base out there.

im angry as hell right now but you know i'll be there opening night.

In the big markets. But not the fringe ones. A lot of teams will take a hit. Fans are truly fed up this time. League is doing better than it has and they cancel games? :what:

I will never buy a ticket again. I usually get them for free...but that's the only way I'll go now.

i hope you're right. but i dont believe any hockey fan that tells me that. 2 weeks into the season eveyrone will forget and be back to putting money in the owners' pocket.

why else do you think we have another lockout ? because the owners know that the fans will come back.
