See I disagree with you and agree with you. The players got raped in a sense of where they were to where they ended up. They still made out well though because they owners did not cover their tracks. That being said what was done needed to be done in 04.

I view this lockout differently and what the owners are trying to do I feel is setting a dangerous precedent as far as when there's a problem with the league take from the players instead of fixing the fundamental issues. Everyone knows the endgame is 50/50 and it seems like both sides have agreed to it. All the contract limits and stuff like that is fluff in my opinion. If revenue sharing and the process of getting to 50/50 without another rollback could be agreed upon this lockout would've be long over. There's clear mistrust on both sides but they're too close NOT to get a deal done. You seem to disagree, but I believe both sides want to get a deal done. However, both sides don't want to move because of that aforementioned mistrust. The players don't trust Bettman and the owners don't want to deal with Fehr.

This lockout is stupid and should've never happened for a variety of reasons. Bettman won't be fired but he's been a hindrance on this whole process. Fehr's doing his job (which is getting the best deal possible for them) but he's hurting PR. The thing I ask you is what are the players exactly at fault for? That's what I don't get.

League and union should be allies not adversaries. So I think the players wanted a lockout. Fehr has done nothing but stall as he didn't think the league would cancel the season. Hate this form of negotiating.

That said I think bettman is a clown and should be removed but that won't happen.

nhl players are idiots though liek you said the avg salary is 2.5 mill for a sport where the money coming in is basically tied to attendance nhl merchanidse and tv deals are so little.

its not like baseball, nfl and nba with those big tv deals that gives teams like 25-30 mill a season

Daly was supposed to be the next head of the nhlpa but players didn't want him.
