Do you guys from NY feel like this is true?

I dont see how the Yankees losing makes it not a baseball town, the Mets been losing for years and people still talk about them constantly. hes dead wrong. baseball is talked about 365 in NY

In terms of fan attendance, all of the major sports have taken hits....

But the NFL is king. Im sure the Giants game destroyed the Yankees game locally.

:mindblown:

WTF?

the Yankees can't even sell out now?

baseball really is dying. I never thought I'd see the day

Empty Seats

The new stadium sucks. The atmosphere is awful...the security ppl are a bunch of morons, you're not allowed to have fun a anymore.

I got kicked out for saying a$$hole on Saturday night. Kicked out!

No...the Yankees have outpriced long time Yankee fans.

I mean the super nice seats are ridiculously expensive....but you can get in for like 15 bucks. The new stadium just blows and no one is really checking for the Yankees as much...especially when football starts.

I hate that shyt. I feels like I'm at the Mall of America in Minnesota.

It has zero character to it. The old stadiums "grit" was tied to its lack of amenities. I miss it.

I can see that, seems like very team is doing that now (in all sports)

when I go to games I'd rather sit in the cheap seats now(that now cost the same as the old expensive seats FFS) because those ppl are more fun to sit around.

teams are pricing their seats right out from their real fans

SMH, that is pitiful for real.

I hope Metlife ain't like that. I still might make the trip for the next Jets game

the old meadowlands was cool though, I had a good time there messin with the other Jets fans

But if this is the way its going in NY, I might have to hold out.

Metlife is drab and dull too but the security aint as gestapo like.

Both new stadiums stink and both were unnecessary.

jesus...embarrassing. Oakland Coliseum was the same stadium that had like 800 fans throughout.

when i've watched these other playoff games, the crowds seem nuts...especially the SF Giants fans. They go hard. And those Nats fans after the Werth HR to end game 4? :wow:

combination of security not letting anyone have fun, corporate fans sitting close and just a lack of enthusiasm towards the team...obviously the place being half empty doesnt help.

Damn near two consecutive entire generations have seen the Yankees remain one of the most successful franchises in sports
Maybe that's taken for granted now cause I myself find reasons to not go to the stadium these days after regularly attending the first three years of its opening.

Just not the same vibe.

QUEENS NY
All the NY teams are doing this, pricing out the real fans. I understand its NYC and its a business first and foremost but when is it enough for them ? Why price out the fans that support you during hard times.
