The one interesting tidbit was the the guy who made the statement about being called "too dark". We're quick to label people as c00ns and self haters, but more often than not no one says anything about blacks who make derogatory comments about another person(s) of color complexion. In fact, they often laugh with them.
It's a vicious cycle that starts when we're children. After years of hearing that "you're too dark" or that you're "midnight" from your own people, I can't blame the victim of such comments for cracking. The human psyche can only withstand so much, so while the fact that they will actively seek out white/latin/bi-racial mates in order to wipe dark skin out of their gene pool is depressing, it's also human nature.
The root of the problem is going to need to be addressed before any "c00n" who has been shamed for the color of their skin in reprimanded. This issue affects all ethnic groups (hell, India established an entire caste system based on the color of the citizens skin) and it's unfortunate that it continues today, especially amongst a group of people who just 59 years ago literally only had each other due to segregation - didn't matter if you were high yellow or purple. Anyone with half of a brain knows and understands why it's still in affect today, but it doesn't make it any less deplorable.
