lol @ "it was highly regarded as bullshyt" when right in the clip we see a pre-bias hbo crew say it was a blatant dq, no question about it.

Marciano's record should be taken with a grain of salt
-fought a lot of guys with terrible, terrible records
-fought great fighters past their prime
-only had 6 title defenses(in comparison to other greats)

He was smart...went out on top

Still can't deny it's a great accomplishment.

Larry holmes was so damn close:ohlawd:
there is a reason why, even with that record, Marciano is not considered a top 5 heavyweight.

The DQ was legit, but I look at it as a suspect defeat and not Griffin beating him. It's not a stain on Roy's record IMO. He wasn't undefeated but he was still unbeatable.

I look at it the same way I look at Jon Jones's DQ. Jones's DQ was legit too, but in my mind he's still an unbeatable fighter. No one's really "beaten" him.

lol @ just "disregarding" a dq. if you disregard the super bowl loss, the patriots had an unbeaten year i guess

oh you were really serious about him beating john ruiz for some vacated belt meaning something?

Oh, the irony.

How you gonna hem and haw about disregarding a dq in declaring him undefeated then disregard the fact that he did, indeed, win that heavyweight belt.

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Roy should have retired when his athleticism was falling off. He was being compared to the all time greats until that Tarver KO, and shyt just went downhill from there. Then again, he fukked up his money, so that's mainly why he kept fighting.:manny:

He's still compared to the all time greats... Them nikkas fell off too at one point

Him losing to Tarver was one of the worst days of my boxing fan life. How people are with this #MoneyTeam shyt, that's how i was with Roy back in the day. Plus i got to meet him threw Lil J back in 03.

So James Toney, Bernard Hopkins, and Vinny Paz were nobodies?

Roy's the best fighter of the last 30 years. Better than Floyd, better than Tyson, better than Pac.

prolific posting,......

if not for roy damaging his body's physiology and dropping ro much muscle mass in a short time.

when he should have stayed a hw.

took the fight with bird or coaxed tyson out of retirement.

people speaking ill of jones never saw jones fight in their lives.

Bhop wasnt the same Bhop then..I'll give you Lights Out but Paz was on the downslide. I didnt say he didnt fight ANYBODY..i said he fougth a lot of cans..which he has.

b hop was b hop, and toney was the best he ever was then as well.

roy lost the fights he lost because of his own ego to chase robinson and physiological damage to his body to make weight.

in a division he should have abandoned title wise.

really he should be given props for valiantly amswering the challenge considering what he did.

yet he fought the best fighter other than himself.

in tarver,..including, imo the best active fighter in the world, glenn johnson.

Roy my dude but he aint fukin with iron mike or floyd

:what:

Roy is probably the most naturally gifted & talented dude to ever lace up a pair of gloves. He could do things in the ring offensively that nobody else could do. Given all of that, he's still not better than Floyd. Floyd is the smarter & more effective fighter. Great offensive execution & godly defense.

At 154 RJJ would beat the breaks of Floyd, it wouldn't even go the distance...
