What was Roy Jones was was a guy who couldn't be beaten in his prime. Everything else is hearsay and speculation. That's the bottom line overall.
And there's defense and there's the way Roy Jones can practically slip punches off of the ropes like no one else in boxing history. That's just the way it was. Don't know why nyggas are trying to come in here and act like he didn't make a fool out of everyone every single time doing this. Like he didn't get in the middle of the ring and do the taunt shyt begging motherfukkers to try to swing on him and crazy shyt like that and then counter with a triple hook so fast that it made you rewind and do the double take on some Bruce Lee shyt.

Man Roy was an athletic freak but I always wondered what he would be like when those gifts decline, 
Some of his fights annoyed the hell out of me, I know after the McClellan incident he did not want to hurt people but some of his opponents were so overmatched, the humane thing to do was KO them and not clown and carry them for 12 rds.
I am a big fan of his but lets be reality, Roy fought a lot of bums like dude fought teachers, cops & firemen

I'm at a loss for words at nikkas in here calling Roy Jones Jr. overrated. I've literally never heard the words Roy Jones and overrated uttered in the same sentence before today....
The only reason I can think of why nikkas would say Floyd's defense is so superior to Prime Roy besides the fact that so many Floyd stans roam this site is that Roy defense was so fundamentally impractical and unorthodox...
