I hate Notre Dame with every fiber of my being but T'eo has a far larger impact in the game than his stats. He's arguably one of the most well balanced linebackers I've seen in the game since Patrick Willis and while I don't think he's at Willis's talent level, you can't discount a MLB that has more picks than most corners, on top of that the dudes overall body of work speaks for itself, Notre Dame is the #1 defense in the country and he is it's spiritual and physical leader. He has more INT than any LB in a decade and he's 2nd in the country. I don't think he excels at any one thing but his all around-game should make him a candidate, even if he is a little overhyped.

He's head and shoulders the best player on arguably the best defense in the Nation. On the #1 team in the Nation. The only undefeated team in the Nation. He's made big play after big play all year, especially in the biggest games (Oklahoma, USC).

There is no "hype machine" here. He's been legitimately THAT GOOD. Only thing he's missing is that defining "Heisman Moment" that are very hard to come by playing LB. He didn't get to moonlight on Offense, or return punts and kicks like CW21 (or CW2, as he was back then) in his Heisman Year.

I doubt he wins it, as everyone knows it's basically an Offensive Award, but to say him being in the discussion is the "hype machine" at work is ridiculous.

Suh in 09 was a more deserving defensive player and he wasn't a real threat to win it. Only reason he getting hyped is because the field is as weak as it's ever been and a top 2 team has to be represented because that's the way the stupid voters vote.

Heisman award is just which spread QB has the best numbers these days so Manziel will win Freshman or not.

Stop this revisionist history. Suh broke out late in the season, and it was mostly hype for dominating the weak ass choir boy Texas Oline and having a great game in the Big XII championship. His season and career was nothing like the last 3-4 weeks of his senior year. That's why yall surprised he hasn't been great in the NFL.

Te'o was the top LB in the country coming out as a recruit. If he was playing in the SEC, he could just play his position a be a LB, unlike the rest of the country where you actually have to learn how to play pass coverage. That's why A&M is exposing the SEC on the weekly.
