So we all agree Manti Teo for Heisman is just a super hype machine, right?

Is he good? Yes.

Do I think all Heismans should go to running backs and quarterbacks? No.

Is Manti THAT DUDE to buck the trend when he isn't even the best defensive player in the country? Hell no.

He's the hype machine because they needed a Notre Dame player in the Heisman discussion because they're undefeated.

He's head and shoulders the best player on arguably the best defense in the Nation. On the #1 team in the Nation. The only undefeated team in the Nation. He's made big play after big play all year, especially in the biggest games (Oklahoma, USC).

There is no "hype machine" here. He's been legitimately THAT GOOD. Only thing he's missing is that defining "Heisman Moment" that are very hard to come by playing LB. He didn't get to moonlight on Offense, or return punts and kicks like CW21 (or CW2, as he was back then) in his Heisman Year.

I doubt he wins it, as everyone knows it's basically an Offensive Award, but to say him being in the discussion is the "hype machine" at work is ridiculous.

No one wins the Heisman without a "hype machine"

dude has 7 picks, hes involved on every down and is very impactful. Honey Badger played corner and had 2 all year

if they were to put Jones on the ballot id have no problem with that, but Manti goes on 1st.

Clowney and Jarvis Jones are easily the first two that come to mind. If I can even think of a couple, there's no reason for Teo to be a Heisman candidate on defense over so many others who have been more dominant.

If Suh didnt win it, Teo sure as hell dont deserve it

My point exactly. There have been so many other defensive players that they could have given the Heisman to that would buck the trend. Teo ain't THAT DUDE.

or Jarvis Jones

Manti T'eo is a great story, he is a great player, and Notre Dame are the #1 team in the nation but dude should not be a Heisman candidate.

:childplease::ufdup:

jarvis jones has missed two games this year, jarvis jonesis 14th in the fbs in sacks

clowney is on a two loss team, in the two losses this year he was the invisible man on the field and he missed a game as well

i hate notre dame more than more people, but teo for heisman is not a super hype machine, the senior leader who was a first round pick last year but came back and has 7 ints on the year from the lb spot, whose made play after play, a 3 down linebacker, not some pass rusher out there on certain downs. A guy who lost his grandma and girlfriend and less than 24 hours later was out there playing his heart out.

i could say the same about Braxton Miller even tho Miller's played against extremely subpar competition and no IT moments like Manti (big game in Norman at night)

the last 4 games of the season, Te'o was 7 tackles and under.

He hasnt been THAT dude since the Oklahoma game, so we can play the same game with him too.

The Heisman voters and media need to prop up someone from Notre Dame because they are ranked number one so I get it, but he hasnt been the best defensive player in the country, let alone best player.
