what are you complaining about here? you felt more comfortable when NY hated on other regions? it's seems you're disappointed they've strayed from their hating ways that made them so easy to hate on. that was the shyt cats were complaining about in the "Illmatic is dated" thread. now cats want to hate on NY cause they're no longer like that. seems like a lose/lose situation

Madlib - Pyramids (Change) - YouTube

not disappointed in their hating ways....just disappointed in their hypocrisy....but whatever works for them to get back to the top...

Politics and lack of work ethic from certain artist to keep it real and the "90'sbabynewyorkers"is a big reason why. Plus alot of these guys are new, its going to take some time. As far as the west being blackballed, i doubt it. NYC simply had more guns on deck than the west did. This is the first time the west is really getting back on since that era

Ive worked in the music business and know many struggling rappers trying to make it at that time.....take it for what its worth but it is the truth.....

I still rep brooklyn and Life is Good is my album of the year :yeshrug:

I also copped Ross last album, and I'll probably cop T.I.'s joint too. Never really understood the coast hate really. I'm just a fan of music, so I'll listen to whatever sounds good.

Side note, I really hope KRIT gets to drop a 2nd album...

He said on Breakfast club he was green lighted one since his first one still did money due to him doing it all himself.

The thing is, it's not even about that now. Everyone works with each other. Snoop just did an entire movie and soundtrack with a nikka from Pittsburgh. Dre making beats for east coast artist since the 90s. Kendrick doing songs with a cat from Canada and got a beat from a dude from New Jersey. Nas was on some of top albums of the year with some of the hottest rappers out. These Cali nikkas so militant. For what? East vs west? What are we in? 1996. And south nikkas finally gettin shine. Y'all been dope. Scarface, outkast, 3 6 mafia, old cash money. Hmm the Internet.

I will always look at someone who focuses on regional seperation in Hip Hop as a blind victim of a marketing ploy from yesteryear.....Dope music is dope music no matter where its from....I remember when Mind Playing Tricks On Me was big in New Orleans summer of 1991 but it didnt hit NY till around the fall....and when it did hit it got the proper acknowledgement because the song was just dope. When 'Cell Therapy' was hot in 1995 it got acknowledged in my city and had constant rotation on Hot 97 because it was dope. I never even acknowledged Pac as a westcoast rapper until he kept screaming "westside" when he was on Death Row and we all know now even that was a marketing move on pacs part. Prior to that it didnt matter because dude had dope songs. Like you said....just enjoy the music.

i guess the bumpkins are just gonna ignore this post. The fact that they gotta compare entire regions to our 1 little city says it all.:hula:

Hip Hop was one sided in the beginning naturally because it started in NY but naturally it expanded and grew so it will never be one sided again. This is what Afrika Bambatta once claimed he wanted...he wanted the culture to be worldwide......so the expansion is actually a good thing its not supposed to be one sided.

I remember when Canibus said if aliens came down to Earth and they had dope emcees who were looking for a battle it wouldnt be no regional sh*t...we would all group together on some Earth vs aliens sh*t. In other words, look at the collective whole instead of seperating things in pieces....Enjoy the music as is no matter where its from because all that regional sh*t is irrelevant when it comes to dope music.

I ain't for these NY hate threads but I gotta say, yeah Nas dropped a gem but Nas is top 5( in my top two) and has been in the game since 94. That ain't really saying much about new NY shyt. Same for people mentioning Jay and Puff. Montana and ASAP don't even sound like they from NY. Joey is nice tho, action too.

why does everyone keep saying this? "Sounding like you're from NY" = stuck in a time warp. Would you feel better if artists sounded like that?

It's harder than ever to make and clear NY sounding music.

nikkas is frontin on there life claiming that NY is trying to sound southern. Who? French Montana :mjpls:?

Asap Rocky blew up off of that PESO's song. And nothing else. These corny nikkas stay hating they dont even have their facts straight. I admit, the problem with NY was that alot of cats were on that lyrically Slaughterhouse bullshyt, and lacked charisma. But best believe me when I say NY is coming back strong in 2013. The talent out here is undeniable, you can just feel the force coming. Its about to be a wave ya'll :wow:

And dont even get me started on that nikka Armvnii :bryan: , his management is frontin. But I guess they are just waiting for the right moment to media blitz him.

Problem is that NYC post 2003 looks :flabbynsick: especially when no new talent is making national noise. Yeah, Jay and Nas are legends and they shyt on 95% of the game in terms of quality, but the main concern is the new blood. The West, Midwest, DMV, South, and even Canada is making noise with cats under 30. East Coast is still hampered with the images of the past thinking that history is gonna repeat itself.

Guess the 808s really fukked it up for the younger generation that was raised on it. Boom bap and story telling raps is almost a lost art to these youngins.
