So the longshoremen are about to go on strike on the East and Gulf coasts.

All of the usa's defense shyt eventually leads back to Chinese suppliers... shyt's been over for at least a decade at this point.

Hell the usa not being able to manufacture medical equipment during covid, shoulda told folks what time it is.
We can't even build ships for the Navy anymore. And have to outsource the work to South Korea instead. Meanwhile China is continuing building to build up their Navy. Trump was right about one thing the US has the dumbest politicians on the planet.

Ehhh virtually any other potential US president could have authorized that and made it work, republican or democrat. Trump talked about reviving WWII era laws to get it done but nothing happened. Instead we decided to buy up global supply which didn't work well initially.

Top pay is 80 grand a year with up to 200k potential with overtime.

They want a total ban on automation as well as a pay increase. The average American gonna see they make 200k in overtime and support more automation if this severely impacts the country

This isn't true. Not everything in the U.S. defense supply chain comes from China, but there are some areas where we do rely on them, like for rare earth materials. There's also some electronics and parts that might come from Chinese suppliers for other things not specifically made for defense. Having said that, most of the critical defense stuff is made here or sourced from trusted allies. There are also programs already in place to build up domestic supply chains for rare earths and high-tech materials, so the reliance is only getting weaker.

It's crazy how little I see this being talked about on the internet. Meanwhile, after 12am tonight everybody who was struggling could really be struggling and not able to make it in the coming months because of this news...

When they said population control, they meant that.
If they have to make it look like an accident, they meant it.

I would agree but it wouldn't make sense for the ones striking to put their own family at risk if this is planned by the "higher ups"

It's allowed. It can be stopped. Could have been stopped years ago with a new agreement.
This happens right before the election. The contract was set to expire this week, right before the election. They agreed on it 6 years ago.
The U.N. just passed legislation the weekend before last to be able to take control in crisis situations.
The Ports around the world are controlled by the same international organizations and companies.
They know exactly what's going on.
It's also an opportunity to bring automation online.
No matter what it is. They know it's coming. Because it's planned.
