the auto industry and tons of others made it clear the writing is on the wall
automation is coming - and the solution is for the workforce to modernize with it. a lot of people are romanticizing some "stick it to the billionaires' angle and like.. okay but none of what happened this week actually 'solved' the larger issue that's still marching along. if anything holding the country at financial gunpoint just accelerated the process too.
a lot of people in here had their bets hedged either way low key so its kinda whatever. but making these guys out to be champions that can relate to other union struggles doesn't work... they are not teachers. they are not amazon warehouse folks. they are not even the railway guys. not all unions are the same. and their 'fair' isn't the same by a long shot.
