I expected him to flop honestly. He's a gold artist at best and given the sales dip I'd say he did exactly what he was gonna do.
nikkas said he top 10 on they list some said top 5 cause of how consistent he is. 3 straight classic albums you can play straight thru with no skips not to mention his tapes. how Rozay kan get on tracks with legends these rap veterans from Hov, to Nas to G Rap or Raekwon/Ghostface and hold his own......Ross done built himself a great body of work since Trilla.
That's where the legend talk kome from not sales...
I haven't heard any of his albums past Trilla. And I barely listened to Trilla, I thought he wasn't very good.
But when I saw how him, Drake, and Lil Wayne had so many songs dropping and playing on the radio, I was sure he was gonna become a household name. Plus Puff said he was as good as Biggie. I thought he was gonna take off, he gotta get at least one platinum plaque before it is said and done.

Jeezy's first week was bigger than "GFID". Recently.
Past, present, future, alternate realities, whatever, Ross is not as popular.
And what's crazy is Ross stans were saying Jeezy's career was over leading up to his album.

And again, what does first week actually mean in terms of popularity. Popular artists get outsold by less popular artists all the time. The essential difference is that one has visibility (Ross) where the other has a stronger loyal fanbase (Jeezy).
But they argue the climate has changed since Jeezy dropped, nobody is buying cds like they did 8 months ago. Also, most people bought those Jeezy cds as Christmas presents. Global warming probably played a small part affecting Ross sales.
Looks like we gotta start taking surveys.
