I'm saying everyone knew what the deal was in terms of $$$$ and marketing. You can't tell me it wasnt deliberate for ESPN to put cameras in every Asian restaurant around NYC to show them watching the games, or to pan to random Asians in the crowd everytime he scored.

It was corny and borderline insulting race baiting.

Like I said, you can't have it both ways. You can't use your race to your extreme financial advantage one month(endorsements, book deals, etc), then cry about it the next.

And most ppl dont doubt this dude b/c he himself is Asian, they doubt him b/c him being Asian and having a few good games has obviously skyrocketed him way too fast.....it's up to him to prove whether he's worthy or not. Whatever ur race is, you made the NBA so you obviously dont suck.

But you can't claim the Miami Heat or other teams clamping down on you is b/c ur Asian....it's because you've been overly hyped and they're not gonna be embarrassed by anyone that's been overhyped.....white, black or whatever.

I didnt find it insulting. I don't find it insulting for others experiencing pride in seeing one of their own succeed in a place where they usually aren't seen.

Linsanity is not Linn's fault. You can't blame him for the media goin' crazy over a Asian kid making buckets. He was just trying to avoid getting cut at the time.

This is a horrible use of the race card . Up there with players driving recklessly with no licenses and crying racism . Teams were being financially prudent :dwillhuh: He didn't perform well enough in reality to warrant a lot of teams offering him contracts he couldn't even last less the rest of season before needing surgery.
Jerome James was a horrible contract And the Knicks were panned for it . I'm sure Lin receives racism but hes acting like he got a 1 year one million contract. He's being paid more due to his drawing Ability in the Asian community the rockets traded proven PGs away to pursue Lin :dwillhuh:

bunch of Malcolm X's in here. lemme guess, only blacks can experience the ills of racism, correct?

this

negroes still living in the 1960s when their fukking president is a negro/muslim/al-qaeda member

:myman: I like how black and whites act like another race can't call the race card just like most you nikkas do all the time.

If anyone white or black can call the race card like ya'll always do. Lin has 100% right to do the same.

No wonder racism isn't going anywhere, b/c everyone thinks they can pull the card but no other race can.

:rudy:

These white people really done something to ya'll nikkas.

Can't believe ya'll showing how much white people hurting your feelings online.

Blacks taking L's left and right on this site

You've made more money than players who are BETTER THAN YOU. Of course they're gonna come at you harder.
But was that Linn's fault that the media did this though? That's what ESPN does. They milk anything and everything to death if it gets them viewers

You absolutely can. As long as he isn't running around asian-c00ning he has the right to capitalize on people's interest. All he did was play his game and people reacted. Al Sharpton is not a poor man. (Not a great example but you get what I'm saying)

Even if he had just showed up on a local playground to ball, people would treat him different because he's asian just like they treat me different becuz I'm black. People get sized up everyday. Got nothing to do with hype its just regular old stereotyping...

lol, the dude was talked about way too much from day 1, is garbage, didn't play in the playoffs purposely & didn't even deserve the contract we offered him.

so, he's annoying & i hope the Knicks embarrass him on 12/17.

I agree, he doesn't deserve that contact. I'm not arguing on that. Houston is trying to get that Yao Ming money all over again. My whole point was that Linsanity wasn't Linn's fault. Should he have just sucked and gotten cut when the cameras started rolling? what was he supposed to do?

Don't try to play me like that. :comeon:

I understand the novelty and the uniqueness of the situation. I get it........but to a point. Then it becomes insulting to my intelligence.

There's other players in the NBA of all races and they never did any of that for them. They never showed random German immigrants in restaurants cheering for Dirk in a regular season game. They never showed restaurants full of Turkish immigrants or people in the crowd cheering for Hedo Turkulu or Peja Stojackovic...that's all I'm saying. And all of those dudes are better or were better at one point than Jeremy Lin. And there's been other Asian NBA players before him.

I guess my point is, it was insulting b/c it wasn't genuine.

300 murders a year
shyt nutty

Lin has to recognize that the same racial element is what made him a star and its not his skin tone that these black athletes are attacking its the percieved unfair bias and hype that surrounds him that they are fighting. Its not a hit to him personally. Just like its not a hit to eminem or tim tebow personally. Its the sad repercussions of this countries terrible history. The fact that in 2012 people have still question if he was a black man would it be linsanity, tebow mania etc. Likely not and that is just the harsh truth.

So lin has to understand its more the hype than him actually being asian. If he was just a regular asian guy 3rd string on the bench nobody would give a shyt about killing him on the court. This is nowhere like hockey where just being a unknown black player in the nhl brings u all type of racist encounters.

But really any player in the nba that gets that publicity gets other players going at they neck I.e see lebron, kobe, etc. Or qbs that come out of college with all the hype, defenses make it a point to kill u on the court/ field.

Lin trying to blame race on that when historically any player with that hype get players and teams going after them. Its part of the game. U make ur name bigger killing them hyped guys.

Lin just seem like he getting sensitive cause he got the lisanity hype but don't have the talent to back that shyt up.

That's not Lin's fault though. There wasn't some groundswell in Dallas where a German contingent suddenly showed up at games to rally around a player. The Asian community here in this city let it be known that he was one of theirs and ESPN picked up on it.

Blame those Germans and Turks for not making noise around one of theirs.

Sorry bruh, I just disagree with that. :manny:

I don't feel you can knowingly capitalize on something like ur skin color one month, then complain about it the next month.

I'm not even mad at him for using his race to his advantage. Hell ppl are gonna make money off of him being asian, might as well get some himself.....I'm cool with that......but dont come back and say, what equates to, "the game is harder for me now b/c ppl are playing me tougher b/c of my skin color"

Nope, just stop.
