Linsanity is not Linn's fault. You can't blame him for the media goin' crazy over a Asian kid making buckets. He was just trying to avoid getting cut at the time.

:myman: I like how black and whites act like another race can't call the race card just like most you nikkas do all the time.

If anyone white or black can call the race card like ya'll always do. Lin has 100% right to do the same.

No wonder racism isn't going anywhere, b/c everyone thinks they can pull the card but no other race can.

:rudy:
This is like the 100 time he's talked about race it's not exactly rocket science to see players usually don't get paid like him off the stretch he had . Not to mention he already said himself teams didn't offer contracts because the Knicks said they would match anything now it's cause they feared his Asianess ? Houston cut him I guess cause they were racist
:wtb: 90% of the problem other players have with Lin is the attention he received . Harden actually performed for his career and people said he was greedy for wanting the max , Lin had a phenomenal 9 game stretch gets big deal and people say the Knicks are being cheap .

So nobody cared about his race. But everyone saw he was getting hyped up becuz of his race and they knew what the deal was

It goes both ways. He got the fame cuz of he's Asian. He also got doubters deserved or not...no reason to play dumb.

He didn't say anything wrong.

I'm saying everyone knew what the deal was in terms of $$$$ and marketing. You can't tell me it wasnt deliberate for ESPN to put cameras in every Asian restaurant around NYC to show them watching the games, or to pan to random Asians in the crowd everytime he scored.

It was corny and borderline insulting race baiting.

Like I said, you can't have it both ways. You can't use your race to your extreme financial advantage one month(endorsements, book deals, etc), then cry about it the next.

And most ppl dont doubt this dude b/c he himself is Asian, they doubt him b/c him being Asian and having a few good games has obviously skyrocketed him way too fast.....it's up to him to prove whether he's worthy or not. Whatever ur race is, you made the NBA so you obviously dont suck.

But you can't claim the Miami Heat or other teams clamping down on you is b/c ur Asian....it's because you've been overly hyped and they're not gonna be embarrassed by anyone that's been overhyped.....white, black or whatever. You've made more money than players who are BETTER THAN YOU. Of course they're gonna come at you harder.

bunch of Malcolm X's in here. lemme guess, only blacks can experience the ills of racism, correct?

Blacks experience and experienced racism in every sport historically and currently. It does not compare. Comparing the racism that blacks face today and historically to other races is like comparing a category 5 hurricane to a tropical depression. Not on the same level.

I am a supporter of Jeremy Lin, I followed him before the hype back when he torched Uconn. I don't see the big deal here. He is not being segregated. Fans are not screaming racists chants at him. Players aren't hurling racial slurs at him. This is something that black athletes face in non-black majority sports like Hockey and Soccer all the time, even in 2012.

Another thing is, he is being baited into these questions and he doesn't yet know how to handle the media yet. So I will give him a pass. If anything, him being Asian is his biggest asset along with his ball skills. I was at the home opener, I haven't seen this many Asians at a game since Yao's first season with the Rockets. Let's not even talk about the China mula the Rockets owner is getting.

An Asian man was allowed to play in the NBA before a black man was. Jeremy Lin wasn't the first Asian player for the New York Knicks either. This was before Russel's era. Think about that for a second. Meanwhile, all we had was the Harlem Globetrotters. :why:

On a side note: Other races should be grateful that the black people were willing to put themselves on the line back in the day for other races to enjoy today. Immigration laws changed in the late 1960s because of the Civil Rights movement. Allowing other ethnic groups to immigrate here and eat off the foundation built with blood, sweat, and tears of people who never got to experience REAL freedom.
