Baseball, yeah. Football top to bottom goes to the Big 10 this year, even though both conferences are down this year and :trash:. Basketball varies year to year, and the Big 10 is always strong in that, but when Pitt and Syracuse come over you gotta give the edge to the ACC in basketball

Yeah, but the Big 10 takes hockey.

Basketball will always be a toss up. Illinois and Purdue can be strong in any given year. The ACC would have more traditional basketball powerhouses though.

Bama ass DC
Those schools want in because the big ten generates more money than their conferences and our fans travel well. The osu, mich, neb, psu etc fans will flood maryland and rutgers stadiums. For the big ten,it lowers our academic prestige and we can find better teams in better markets than those two. We good.

who :heh:

I'm waiting on them to get real good again. Just when I thought they were on the verge of becoming great again Jereme Richmond leaves and Myers Leonard goes pro the year after

We gave that up when we grabbed Nebraska.

Probably still the best conference academically on balance. :smh:@Notre Dame ruining what has always been common sense.

Maryland and New Jersey has some pretty good talent too. The Big Ten needs to expand its recruiting base and those are two good states in which to do that.

It doesn't matter how many people watch Rutgers

that's not the television revenue from Rutgers fans the Big Ten is chasing...I've worked in television for over a decade and a half and for a network like the Big Ten they just want to be IN the New York market so when they negotiate their rates and deals they can claim to have a presence in the number one market in the nation and a presence in DC which is 8 and presence in Baltimore which is 27

it's the same reason Missouri was able to generate the buzz they did from conferences...they were able to bring the KC and St. Louis market money and even Springfield, MO is a top 75 media market

so once again...it's a smart move by the Big Ten money wise...it doesn't matter if no one watches Rutgers they will still be able to claim they're in that market and use it as negotiating power

NONE of these moves are made based on how well their athletics or academics will be taken care of or hurt or anything like that...that's all bullshyt to make the fans feel better...the bottom line in any move is MONEY...and the big revenues in the college football come from television, because it's the only thing advertisers know that people watch LIVE and not on DVR

That's not entirely true. Especially with the Big 10. One of the big questions with alums and students was whether Nebraska fit the Big 10 academically. They did give into the money though. Otherwise, you are pretty much on point.

you made his point.

Unless the Big 10 presidents were considering that question, and they were not, then the opinions of student and alums dont matter.

No, you misunderstand. By alums, I mean boosters. I mean the same people who didn't like Rich Rod because he wasn't a "Michigan Man."

Like I said, I wish it was a rumor but the DC media dont play around like the small town outlets that usually spread these rumors.

It will be in the WaPo tomorrow.

cuz Duke and UNC wont be recruiting top talent anymore:ld:

Turgeron has a MUCH better chance in the Big 10 than the ACC. Shoot, if Len stays for next season, we have a chance to compete for a title next year.

You know the Junkies will be going nuts on Monday morning on 106.7
