In to say that Black Bolt is dope
Glad I'm not the only oneI'm not minimizing it, "Age Of Ultron" was awful. But you cats are talking about cartoons and comics as the yard stick for a character's popularity when very little of that $1.4 billion was from comic fans.
I'm talking about average, every day people. Not comic fans.
I don't even know what you cats are arguing about. I'm saying fukking up Ronan isn't going to be as noticeable as fukking up an X-Men. And it's not. One is a A-list member of Marvel's most popular team, and one is a Z-tier villain for Guardians Of The Galaxy, who is itself a Z-tier team.
Imagine if I remixed DAS EFX "Dead Serious" with shytty beats vs if I remixed BIG's "Ready To Die". People are going to be far more upset at the latter than the former. Most people probably wouldn't even care about the former.
Fred.
Are you positive that the the cats that decry Mystique are the same ones making excuses for Tony? seems like you are lumping many different people's sentiments into one monolith of a "Typical Marvel Stan".But then that's when relativity or just blind faith play a part and I don't know which is which. Cats in this thread have decried mystique leading the x men. Cool. But then make excuses as to why Tony stark plays such a big part in peters upbringing as a crime fighter. Can't have it both ways. And even if they say that Tony and Pete had a relationship in the comics it's in a completely different context that potentially robs pete of something. I say potentially because I haven't seen the movie so I won't project or prophecize but if you're a hardcore spider man fan like myself or @Ed MOTHERfukkING G then of course you may be leery of it on face value.
At the same time I had no prob at all with the mandarin in iron man 3 but I'm also not in love with that character. Meanwhile there are those who are and wanted to see him done justice. They didn't feel they got that and I respect their viewpoint even if I'm not on the same wavelength. For someone mandarin or ultron is their shyt and they don't want to feel shortchanged.

Good chance? Not really many people post here and have many different and nuanced opinions. Some want the comic books and movies to be exactly the same some want the opposite and many many others want something in-between the two. It's easy and lazy to say there are only two types of posters, those who like changes to characters and those who don't.They may or may not be but there's a good chance they are just based on this place. And I'm not even calling out Stan shyt I'm just calling out hypocrisy Stan or no Stan. Can't have it both ways. Either changes aren't cool or they are. Either fox must stick to canon or they don't because it can't be cool for marvel to and them not to.
And this whole thing is way beyond the initial point of this thread now lol so someone had to drive us back home. My initial point when I posted is that while I understand the business reasons for what the house of ideas is doing I disagree with it as a fan and that's what care about. I don't give a damn about business decisions that I'm not profiting from. I want good comics plain and simple and I don't want those comics hamstrung by cats like Breevort and whomever else. But Breevort has been on my shyt list for a while

I mean lament the end of your favorite series but to bytch and complain when you understand exactly why is kind of ungrateful for the favorite series provided. It was a business decision that gave you X-Men and now it is a business decision that ends it.
While I agree with the analogy I'd say where it doesn't hold up is that it's all relative as to what's important and what's not. You can't bytch about Logan taking liberties with the story but be okay with civil war or age of ultron taking liberties as well. If you want to argue about who's a more important character yeah you're right that people on the whole will be more upset about messing up storm than they will Zemo. But when the argument is that liberties shouldn't be taken but you're cool when they're taken by other people then that's hypocrisy
Of course it's relevant to the importance of the character. If they fukk up Wolverine and they fukk up Squirrel Girl, you're seriously telling me that's the same thing?
C'mon man. I'm not saying anything about taking liberties either way, I'm saying people will care more in some cases than others. You got people in here talking about "fans are making excuses for the MCU!" when the MCU has far more breathing room for liberties due to who they're using. That's all I'm saying. I ain't been heavy into comics since the early 90's so I don't really care about this either way, unless they completely butcher a character like Apocalypse. Zemo? I don't really care about. "Old Man Logan", "Civil War"? I don't really care about as long as the movie is good. If I didn't I wouldn't have praised "DOFP".
Fred.
Hmmm. . . you're on here to man.I'm sorry..what? Nuanced opinions? In this place? Nah lol
And secondly, spare me putting up the flag for a company on their business decision son when it speficially hurts fans. If you don't read x men, cool, then this whole argument is moot to you. But don't tell the cats who do and the cats who do care that they should be cool with it. I should be grateful they gave it to me? Fukk outta here. You and I have been over this "grateful vs ungrateful" shyt before and my stance hasn't changed. I'm not going to say "thanks marvel for all those x men issues but its cool you're giving them the no vaseline treatment right now" nah that's not happening. I'm a fan and a reader and as someone who pays my money to read them and has paid money in the past, I have every right to complain when I see something that I don't like and will specifically influence me. Shyt isn't cool. Just like plenty of DC fans complained about the new 52. There were those who didn't and went along with the ride and those who did. That's their right. It's not about kowtowing to them just because of who they are. That's not my style nor should it be the style of any paying customer especially when it comes to something you're passionate about
Hmmm. . . you're on here to man.
So you're not grateful for the decades of stories but claim this Uber fandom. Nice. lol
Without the company these would just be stories Steve and Stan's friends and family would be privy to. You would have no idea about it.No I don't believe in saying thanks for all the good shyt and smiling when they fukk me over or do something I don't like. That's not smart to me. I'm grateful I've got a character like spider man and to Steve and Stan for creating him but if marvel did wrong by him I'd speak on it. That's what we do as paying customers. I don't believe these cats are infallible therefore I should just shut my mouth and be cool with whatever shyt they feed us.

Like I said you know why they are doing it and claim to understand. This isn't something done to personally spite you. That's cool but that doesn't mean the company is above reproach. They get props when they do something dope, like Slott's latest run or bringing back Pete and Mj's marriage but when they do stupid shyt like one more day or the entire clone saga, they'll hear about it.

Everything done by someone else that you personally don't like you complain about?
