anyway the perception (and part reality) of skin color in regards to how gully a black person is stems from the house slaves being mixed and lighter skin vs the field slaves being big buck dark skinned men who usually weren't mixed with whites. field slaves were stronger and more likely to bust that azz than house slaves due to hard labor and not being coddled or 'domesticated' by the slave masters. i'm a darker brown skin dude but know grimey cats on both end of the color scale. seems the dark skin perception has lived on through all this time though.
