Tou took that post personal. It’s not about the rockets. It’s about the Thunder preventing their own dynasty. Harden Durant And Russ would’ve won a ring(s) eventually.
I agree it was a bad trade, but think context is missing a bit. Nba caused that retroactively when they created the luxury cap due to the heat coming together.

OKC also hasn't won anything yet either, I think both teams got what they wanted out of the deal.
Clippers absolutely did not want to make one WCF and have George leave for nothing. They are the only ones that had chip expectations.

All these guys are up after next season. Also are you forgetting Dort took a huge cut when he reupped last time?

He’s basically a younger Caruso & will demand a lot on the open market.
Yeah Doet is also a huge part of the OKC profile. They’re a defense first team. All their moves and transaction are reflective of their defensive personality. They’re traded Giddey for defensive specialist Caruso. Hartenstein was a defensive signing. They start letting their defensive specialist walk and they won’t be a contender much longer. Chet is apart of that defensive identity but he can’t stay healthy. I can wait til they resign Chet and Hatenstein moves on. I don’t trust Chet’s durability. OKC been trying to extend Chet this season while he’s been out trying to hope he take a lesser deal but he ain’t budging.

They won a ring after neglecting the importance of role players?

A ring they wouldn’t have won without role players?
1. they still won a ring

2. the 2nd apron is gonna make role players either take less or you're gonna have to keep drafting well to replace them. We're already seeing casualties of those rules, and it's not just the money, It's all the punitive stuff that comes with it.

It’s no where near some of the worst trades in history but at the time it happened I was surprised and personally wouldn’t have given up a young talent like that who was already showing glimpses of star potential. Didn’t think Shai was gonna be this good though and neither did LAC

Clippers with another L.

Having Shai in Los Angeles, the second largest media market, would have been a good look for the NBA.

And maybe the Clippers could begin the process of no longer being a poverty franchise. But they did what they always do :umad:
