It's not the worst trade of all time
Hornets traded Kobe to LA
Sixers have once traded Wilt to LA for nothing good.
Same thing Bucks did by trading Kareem to LA for pretty much nothing.
Bucks also traded Dirk for Tractor Traylor lol
Believe it or not, these aren't the worst trades in franchise history. Of the two, Kareem had the most real impact. They had zero leverage with him because his deal was up and he respectfully forced his way out of Milwaukee for a good reason. In hindsight and on paper, that deal might look weak. But, two of those guys (Winters/Bridgeman) have retired numbers with the team.
The Dirk/Tractor Traylor deal is misunderstood, even by Bucks fans. Dirk was never coming here and that trade was simply made to secure each team's preferred player. The team's logic was that they had Big Dog plus Ray Allen, but needed a post guy, which is why they set their sights on Tractor. Dirk was always a one-way ticket to Dallas, hence the deal.
While it's not the worst in league history, the worst for us would've been flipping a young Ray Allen for a Gary Payton rental because of goofy ass George Karl. GP didn't want to be here and that move set the team back for years. Ray should've retired a Buck.
