Clippers absolutely did not want to make one WCF and have George leave for nothing. They are the only ones that had chip expectations.
Injuries happen you can't really predict those things but when healthy the Clips were a championship contender. Conversely, If Shai tears his knee apart tomorrow is it suddenly a failure for the Thunder? The clippers became relevant again due to this trade...they wouldn't have gotten Kawhi without it....they got what they wanted...OKC got a young star they got what they wanted

My Pops Forever RIP
Clippers with another L.

Having Shai in Los Angeles, the second largest media market, would have been a good look for the NBA.

And maybe the Clippers could begin the process of no longer being a poverty franchise. But they did what they always do :umad:
the Clippers aren't a poverty franchise, at least they haven't been in a while. They've been competent.

The deal did what it was supposed to do for the Clippers. The failures don't necessarily come at the feet of the trade. It comes at the feet of the guy who orchestrated the deal and keeps getting checks to not play.

So, the Celtics didn't win the chip year after year after year...even had some of you Coli basketball experts claiming they needed to breakup their best two players before they ultimately won the title. Being a contender obviously doesn't mean you will win a championship every season.

Except Kawhi load managed the year before and came in with the understanding that he would load manage. His injuries were definitely predictable. nikkas wasn't injured in the bubble when the blew a 3-1 lead. They did not live up to the hype/expectations. OKC already without a ring has blown theirs out of the water.

I SAID JAYLEN/TATUM
WERE GOING TO RUN THE
EAST FOR YEARS TO COME SO
IDK WHAT YOURE DOING WITH THIS POST.

BROWN AND TATUM HAVE BEEN
TO 5 ECF AND 2 FINALS.
THATS THE DEFINITION OF CONTENDERS.

HOW ARE YOU COMPARING THE CLIPS
DEBACLE TO THAT?

The Celtics got tatum and brown off that nets trade and been to multiple ecf’s/finals and won a championship with those 2 players leading them

Thunder haven’t even been as far as the clippers yet

The Thunder had chip expectations traded for him? We cant create this false equivalence because the Clippers fell so far short of their expectations.

Based on what? He wasn't load managing due to his knee which is what he injured in LA :mjlol: yall nikkas get on here and constantly just say anything

"They've blown them away without winning a ring and only making it to the second round" - like I said you nikkas are unserious.

You right it was a complete shock that the dude that missed basically an entire season to injury, worked a reduced schedule and was still limping the year before, and then had a reduced scheduled worked out had injury issues. Sixers were blinisided by Embiids injury this year too right? :mjlol:
