So is every NBA Championship going to have an asterisk now?

the asterisk is for the season, not for the champ itself. all shortened seasons deserve asterisks because the season in itself is different. injuries are different matter because they happen every season and theyre part of the game.
This is how it should be applied, but when people reference it that's not the context they use it in. It's always to discredit the championship these days. That shyt is goofy.

Why because you say so? And because you wanna undermine and discredit LeBron's 4th ring?
I'm not going to go into detail because I've already done this before in other threads, and I'm past all that now. And no, it doesn't have anything to do with undermining Bron's ring; he won it fair and square, and it counts all the same. But that entire Bubble setting shouldn't be compared or treated like a regular playoffs, and it certainly wasn't something that affected everyone "evenly".

I agree with some of this post but while the bubble may have affected some differently no team had an added advantage or disadvantage. If any issues arose from the bubble it was all on the individual or the team.

They won’t have an asterisk in the history books, but the fans who watched will know.

The injured teams and players can not complain.
As giannis ramped when others failed.
when they were the lone superstar versus opposition.

Kd dolo = fail
Bron dolo = fail
Pg dolo = fail
Joker dolo = fail

Art Barr

Giannis had the best team around him. Giannis could not have his best game shoot 10% from the free throw line off and Kris Middleton / Jrue Holiday would step up. What second / third option stepped up on joker / kd / bron / or pg's team? go ahead... ill wait.. :unimpressed:

Reggie Jackson or you talking those pacers teams for pg? For kd them boys wasn’t ready for the moment they were used to kyrie and harden doing all the heavy work

Asterisks never existed outside of the mind of salty haters.

They are only ever really spoken of in that context really. Chips are chips. And there will always be someone who will always claim a win deserves an asterisk because it's hate driven. A hater is never without some contorted rationalization for their hate.

the ether
This entire thread is full of guys saying, "Asterisks are bullshyt!" and then turning around with "But the only asterisk I would give is..." and then naming all sorts of seasons. :laff:

nikkas only care about narratives, not the actual sport itself
This.

the only one is the Lakers. not their fault, but i think it was clear the bubble affected play
No such thing as an asterisk per se but the side eye of the bubble and the players who obviously feasted in that environment vs a regular basketball playoff environment won't be discounted
Yeah, all those random bubble performances by scrubs were just ridiculous. Off the top of my head you have:

* Reggie Jackson looking like an all-star

* Dillon Brooks???

* The Kevin Huerter game

* Seth Curry playing like Steph Curry

* Marcus Smart suddenly being a scorer

* Cameron Payne going from a bust to a star

* Middleton leading his team to the Finals without Giannis

There's zero chance they would have done all that if there were fans in the seat, those players had never shown it before.
