So is every NBA Championship going to have an asterisk now?

there's no asterisk next to any of this. the problem is people lack the objectivity to contextualize shyt, and they make asinine comparisons.

For instance, when Kawhi won, the narrative was that he not only won on a small market Raptors team, but he did what Lebron couldn't do and ended the Warriors reign..

sounds good, but it completely dismisses the fact Klay tore his ACL mid series and KD played like 3 minutes total. That OBVIOUSLY effected the outcome. No, that doesn't mean there's an asterisk next to it, but you cannot take the result of that series and try to compare it to Lebrons Cavs vs The Superfriends to somehow downplay what Lebron was able to accomplish. Cant make these overzealous claims without pointing out what's literally fukking obvious.

Learn how to contextualize. Stop jumping out the window with wins and losses. It's not black and white, there's a million moving parts.

Klay's injury actually was Toronto's fault. Danny Green hopped on his back while they were battling for a rebound.

Injuries happen though, is it Capella's fault Giannis hyper-extended his knee vs ATL? I don't think so, it was the heat of competition and that could happen on almost every situation when two players go up mano e mano at the rim.

This is not a normal year where a few here and there injuries happen, as much as some of you guys are trying to make it out to be.

:mjlol: This title is great for Giannis individually, but I don’t walk away from the finals thinking the Bucks were anywhere close to the best team in the NBA.

The top 3 teams I had as the best in the NBA, none of them made the finals. I don’t know if that’s ever happened before

The Traps of Unified Korea
2015 - GSW (they played against injured teams)

2016 - Cleveland (Draymond got suspended/Steph wasn't 100% healthy)

2017 - GSW (Superteam)

2018 - GSW (Superteam)

2019 - Toronto (Durant & Klay was injured)

2020 - LA Lakers (in the bubble)

2021 - Milwaukee (Nets, Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets & other teams top players injured)

For the record in my opinion the only Chips I'm side eyeing out of those I listed are the 2017 & 2018 stacked deck, superteam Golden State Warriors. Notice I didn't say it was an asterisk just some :shaq2:shyt. But at what point is this gonna stop? And what does a team have to do or go through to not have an asterisk
Championship?
Start a thread complaining about arbitrary devaluation of championships by doubling down on arbitrarily devaluing a championship :mjlol:

All y'all went so hard getting triggered by the Dubs you created this narrative. Now that it's spun out of control y'all wanna walk it back, but still can't take that hate out of your heart :russ:

the asterisk is for the season, not for the champ itself. all shortened seasons deserve asterisks because the season in itself is different. injuries are different matter because they happen every season and theyre part of the game.

Klay's injury actually was Toronto's fault. Danny Green hopped on his back while they were battling for a rebound.

Klay was going "Game 6" on Toronto, but landed wrong on a fastbreak dunk during which he was fouled. He went out and shot the free throws and was mentally prepared to keep playing on a torn ACL but they yanked him out.
