So is every NBA Championship going to have an asterisk now?

This is what happens when you cheapen championships by teaming up like the Super friends to win easy rings. I'm glad the super team era is coming to an end. I hope neither the Lakers or Nets win next year so we can be done with that bullshyt.

Playoffs are also a lot more exciting, unpredictable and in my opinion a little bit more watchable.

OP started at 2015 :ohhh:

Last "rea" nba champ was the 2014 spurs :ohhh:

I started there because as much as I don't like the Spurs I give them respect for that. They had won 4 Chips before that but never repeated and in my opinion was boring as fukk.

But after choking away the Chip in 2013 they came back determined in 2014 and it opened my eyes that the only time they went to back to back Finals was after the only one they lost.

Heatles were a superteam as well but I wasn't online in forums like that at the time so I don't know what was being said about them.

Two of Bron’s championships should be asterisks then. He won his first ring during a 50 game lock out shortened season, and then last season’s bubble play

I'm not saying any of those in the OP have asterisk but other people are. I'm more asking what does a team have to do or go through to not have people labeling their Chips with an asterisk.

Giannis got injured too tho.

It's just he apparantly has Saiyan DNA and leveled up when he returned. :whoo:

War of attrition sucks from a fan perspective when anticipating all-star matchups but it's part of the grind to a championship. :yeshrug:

I know for clarity here is what this thread is getting at for me

The team that wins the title has to be the favorite team of the idiots that like to put asterisks on everything.

That's what they have to do. If their team does it the same way that Milwaukee just did it: "We beat who was in front of us. Other teams should have been tougher/taken care of themselves. :takedat: :blessed: :manny:"

If some other team did it: "FRAUD ASS CHAMPIONS :camby:"

Funny how these injury asterisks only apply to the brand name players when there’s is inevitably always going to be someone to step up and have a moment in a series along the way.

if the whole Nets starting 5 gets hurt then that’s on them for getting injuries at the worst fukkin possible time. Just show up for the playoffs if you’re that fragile. Or do what the Lakers did and give the head trainer the boot since you gotta scapegoat someone for these guys falling apart all year

or have depth
bucks lost a starter as well and had another bench guy miss games due to health protocols. But bucks had depth, portis, teague, connaughton, tucker
