Well, of course, but a family making 100k doesn't experience the same financial pains as one making 35k a year. In our present economy, 400k is a fair point to define our middle class.

400k is a fair point to define the middle class

when that is 8 times what the average household makes.

why not stop at a million?

why not just stop period and leave this thread for the library.

You're missing the point. It is all relative. I don't consider a married couple with children "rich" if their combined income is 400k a year. Step into the real world and cease with the hyperbole.

400K isn't really a lot of money, when divided by a married couple with children. that won't get you far in any major city.

So damn near half a mil ain't enough to live comfortably in any major city? Oh, I forgot, this the coli, where every poster is in the top 1% :beli:

It's not about being extreme, but I mean, Obama and the Dems basically won the election but let the Republicans treat them like they lost. While this is par for the course for Democrats, it doesn't actually make much sense.

I see everyone framing this as a democrats vs republicans battle, and being upset every time dems make a compromise or repubs get what they want, yet no one talks about reality and the actual problems ahead of us.

Based on this thread alone it's clear most of you are more interested in getting it your way than getting anything done the right way. Which makes a lot of you liberal pawns, and on the low major hypocrites, and also contributes to the toxic political atmosphere. :datazz:

:snoop: where everyone gets what they deserve? What does everyone deserve aside from freedom? Because most everything else you can "give" a person usually does more to restrict his freedom than enhance it. Some of you nikkas worry me :mjpls:

That family would definitely be well off, completely provided for, and if their money is invested properly they are very likely on the road to being rich within all of their lifetimes.

:shaq2::beli:

What kind of world are you living in where 400K for a family is not rich? That's way above the national median household income of 55K a year.

i know people who are making 300-400k a year. they aren't living like millionaires.

First of all a millionaire isn't defined by income, its defined by wealth

Second of all even if it was defined by income, obviously someone making 400K couldn't live like someone making a million

You havent made one cogent point this whole thread :biggaplease::biggaplease::biggaplease:

ok just...just stop already. If you don't consider that "rich" you're a fukin moron. No seriously a bonafide stone cold idiot ass mutha fuka. Talking about, "the real world" :comeon:

250k+ a year, regardless of the city is rich. That's doctor money. That's seasoned professional money. That's top 2% income earning money...2%.

One cannot help that someone making that much chooses to live in certain areas within their city. By all accounts you can live comfortably in any city making that. ANY CITY. So seriously just stop with that nonsense. Move. Stop spending indiscriminately. You're rich, not uber-wealthy. There's a difference.

As for the actual topic.

This is a win on every front. People who see this as an L are as far left as the tea party is right.

Rethugs agreed to taxes GOING UP. Period.
Unemployed people still get to eat. Period.
Taxes for 98% of the population stay the same.

While you wanted Obama to play chicken with people's livelihoods. :stopitslime:

Anyone still holding onto the "promises" made during campaign as 100% gospel is a moron. You have to, as a grown adult, account for negotiations.

Roughly 1/2 the country voted for the other guy, keep that in mind. 1/2 the country, for some reason still unbeknownst to me, they agree with the GOP. You can't want a democracy and then get pissy when EVERYTHING doesn't go your way because a damn good portion of the country simply DOES NOT AGREE WITH YOU.

Actually you can, but then you'd be a republican.

seriously though 400k...just stop.

Let me guess, the "right" way is the GOP way? Hack n slash through social programs, eliminate taxes for white male business owners and quadruple the size of the military :skip:

You "its the other side's fault" idiots kill me
