Stock Kia doing 0-60 in 4.6 seconds..thats muscle car territory

I honestly think this might be the best car out right now performance and looks wise...I'd buy one in a few years when it's much cheaper

So clean:whew:

That would be my thought process too, in 3 years you can probably buy one off lease for 25k or even less and still get prime financing.

Hyundai/Kia have former head of BMW M division working for them right now. They also have former chief designers from Audi and Bentley as well. Stinger looks like a first step in right direction.

Who would get past the name for the most part? You got a chance at a brand name car or a Kia most people not on the net going to cop the brand name car. Online seems to be home of the I wanna be different compared to offline consensus. I mean would you cop this Kia over a brand name car? Most people I know would cop a bmw, mb, porsche even though they would have some miles on them compared to a new Kia.
For the money I would definitely get this over a new German car. I sat in one at a Hornets game. It's no worse than a similarly priced German. I don't really care what most people would do.

The big question mark on if this will succeed is how much Kia will put up behind the lease. Germans subsidize the hell out of their leases which is a big part of why they can keep selling. You look at a 330i lease, $339 a month with 3000 down and a 3000 dealer credit. That still puts it at a $20K trade in at 3 years. But they are trading in at like $14K and retailing at $20K. So Germans play games with the math to keep the machine churning.

If you would get this over the Germans at sticker right now I believe you but I also people like you are an outlier honeslty. Nothing wrong with it because we are all different just don't see many cats doing that with their 50k. I also don't expect you to care what others do but mainly on something like this that's what we are talking about because of course on an individual level you'll have some folks that don't care about the badges and the like.

The lease thing will help in seeing how this performs. Either way I will be curious to see if I'm wrong and Kia has started to get more mainstream recognition. I thought the k900 might have a few more people get it because IMO it looks the part esp from the outside and I didn't really them out in the streets like that. The genesis though I've saw more people buying those more recently.

Oh no its definitely not a normal thing, and I think it's gonna fail. Not so much because of the badge, but mainly because it's a car and not a crossover. If they made this thing a crossover I'd seriously be considering one for wifey's car. For me, a 4000lb sedan is just too much. Might as well get something like an X3 which weighs about the same and is more roomy + practical.

Yeah I think it will because of badge. If this was the normal people this would probably be a hit with dudes ready to put these in videos and parking lot pimp. Not many trying to do that with this lol. If it was a crossover I would sell better because those are on fire right now but unfortunately because of badge I think would have the same fate

I don't think people putting these in videos and parking lot pimping is a big driver of sales. That's a small piece of the market. But this has kind of the same problem as the Chevy SS. Not so much the badge, but the fact that it looks a lot like a cheaper Kia (Optima) for a lot more money. Most people don't care about how cars drive so the extra cost for not much visual change is pointless.

As a crossover it would kind of be the same thing. Truthfully something based of the Optima between the Sportage and Sorento would have been a smarter move.

I agree I don't believe its a big driver of sales but I do think it shows whats popular in the mainstream. I reminds me how some of these movies of the year ain't nobody done heard of but the big time $$$ movies rarely win. That's how I look at it with regards to cars.

I like that Chevy SS comparison though that makes a lot of sense.

If it's meant to be anything other than a niche car then they are going to be disappointed.

Personally I feel the car did deliver. Once I heard that Peter Schreyer was going to spearhead design, and then ex BMW ///M division engineer was also joining, i was excited.

But I knew no matter how good it would be driving/tech wise, that people were going to turn their nose up on the badge - and this is where I feel Kia fukked up. They knew this. Everyone knew this. So why did they badge Kia all over the thing outside of one badge that says Stinger? It should, if anything, have only said Stinger throughout the car - similar to what their cousins at Hyundai did with the Genesis model, which then became a brand of it's own. Not saying Stinger should be it's own brand, just the presentation on this car.

Sad part people will still pay same money for a lower model/lower performing German car (A4/C300/328) - but that's just the way it is. Funny part is it is German all through. c panel is A7/S5 Sportback, vents and door buttons are current Mercedes, center console layoit is current gen BMW/Audi.

Not even sure what the target market is here but hope it does well. Lease rate, atleast here in Canada, is absolute shyt.

KIA went on record saying that they weren’t going to do what Hyundai did. Too much pride. Which will be their downfall in the US in the near-luxury/luxury market.
