Because Wesley Snipes is just a veritable paragon of black acting right...:shaq2:

He was predominantly an action star, it ain't like he got accolades and acclaim from doing dramatic work. My point was simply that Wesley came along first and got alot of the type of work that a MJW could/would have gotten if Snipes hadn't been around.

Wesley got his start doing dramatic roles, like Mr. Somebody said, dude was very good in Mo Better Blues, and Jungle Fever was a classic. Actions movies got him his biggest paychecks though, and even if you are going by that alone, he is still a better actor than Michael Jai White.

Yeah, Wesley Snipes is a very well respected actor and when given the right roles proves it. He just started doing action films and never looked back.

A lot of Black actors got seriously acting chops but never really get to flex them for various reasons. Ving Rhames is another guy that people don't realize is a very good actor (dude graduated from Julliard).

Yea, I had him in my top list of underrated actors, he's been done a disservice, he and Michael Clark Duncan were typcast as just Big, Black Dudes.

Thats nice to know but it still doesn't change the fact that it's not uncommon. White actors get opportunities out the ass. Watch Mel Gibson make a come back in a few years and he said fukk all the Jews multiple times. Meanwhile they only letting Denzel and Will make movies and they have to be different times. Truth is Hollywood isn't willing to roll the dice with black actors in fear of not getting their money back which is why they wont do a Black Panther movie and quietly ignore the character like he wasn't a vital part of the Avengers origin.

Gibson hasn't done shyt in like 6 or 7 years.

Are we going to act like people will go see a Black Panther movie, it's not worth rolling the dice, people made a big stink about Red Tails, and no one went to go see it, Blacks or Whites. Blacks have not been a major movie-going force since the mid-90's if you want to be honest about it.

No hate, but I've always considered him a B actor.

That's why Black Dynamite was genius.

The only way a Black Panther movie would get made with the full backing of a studio and expectatioons of being a box office hit is if the character was to be introduced in an Avengers (or Iron Man) movie and allowed to shine with tons of cool moments in the flick before being moved to his own movie.

Yea, dude would have like 2 hot lines and action sequence, but then again who knows, maybe a guy like Antoine Fuqua could make it gritty or something, who knows.

People keep bringing up guys that were stars at some point, fell off, then got another shot.

Even Klitsch, all of his movies came out close to one another, which means that he signed on to these roles before the other films came out and flopped. Studios got this guy and went :krs: because the thought was that he would have a blockbuster or 2 under his belt by the time their movie with him came out.

Michael Jai could definitely do the type of movies as Jason Statham does. But he would always be a B actor at best. He has no range and rarely shows any emotion in his films. He could be in some action flicks as the number one henchman(cause u know Hollywood aint' gonna make him the lead villain) but he would never be the star in a big time blockbuster or anything like that. But he's still had a good career compared to most. If he stars in the new Mortal Kombat movie then he'll probably get some shine then.
