The thing with the WWE currently is that none of the storylines are entertaining or seem important. You need great characters/gimmicks to build interest and draw viewers. Compare any of the current day storylines to anything that was happening with Evolution, the shytty invasion, The Rock v HHH v Austin v Jericho and all the fukkery that used to occur every RAW and Smackdown episodes. Things seemed to be monumental all the time. I mean for fukks sake check this out:

The intensity was unreal. What makes all of this worse is the fact that the wrestlers themselves are more talented than they have ever been. With the perfect storylines and gimmicks, WWE could be as entertaining as ever but no, we gotta deal with superhero Roman, people that are over like Rusev being underutilised etc. They completely botched the DB return. Like someone previously said on this thread, at least WCW or even WWE in the past would make his return seem more important. Imagine DB returning like when Austin came down to help Mankind win or some shyt. Something that seems urgent. shyt would be legendary. I'm fed up with the current booking :francis:

BARS!

We get on here and whine and complain daily but those fact will always remain. Vince says he wants another Hogan or Austin but in reality he see's all the talent as equals, Austin, was a accident, he had to force Vince into letting him be great, same with Bryan, Hogan was already over before he got there, and Cena in all honesty could have been bigger if they aint force him to be the PG poster child and water him down to the point life long wrestling fans turned away to never look back. So yea in that regard he has made money in spite of himself and that isn't a bad thing for him. But IMO Cena could have been on another level if they let him do him a little more.. but yea at the end of the day none of this can be proven cause the wwe business is making money and we are hooked into the network because of the other shows or classic shyt. This is why I don't start threads complaining about every booking decision or try to spend too much time criticizing or nitpicking the booking, cause I have better things to do and at the end of the day, if they do something good then great, if they fukk up then I wait until next week to see if they can do something better. If I ever get tired of it then I will not watch or say another word about wwe.

So this has always annoyed me, its like they want a big star sometimes but when they actually have a chance to make one, they waste them on feuds with guys that are not over just cause Vince wants it that way. I was watching Something to wrestle and they were talking about the night Austin challenged Vince to a match on raw and that ended up turning into a feud with fukking dude love. they said ALL of that was just to get him into a feud with dude love. The biggest feud in wrestling history was a complete fukking accident, I remember when dude love came out when I originally watched and being disappointed thinking they were just teasing us, but no come to find out that was the payoff, dude fukking love.. so yea wwe has always loved wasting top talent on corny unover nikkas like dude love and big cass, its like they talk you into believing the larger than life star shyt but actually think all of the guys are equal. Nothing against Mick foley I think hes great but as dude love he should have been no where near Austin, just like Cass should never have been anywhere near Bryan especially a returning Bryan, the ONLY way it could have worked is if the was the Miz's hired goon and they mysteriously went away from that.

I respectfully disagree about the Dude Love.. It was a great transition because that promo he did where he felt betrayed by the fans

He developed the Dude Love persona to spite his hardcore loyalists and fukked up their new favorite. Plus he really started getting heat by " wearing suits, fixing teeth" and destroying his longtime friend Terry Funk so it played perfectly.

Well I get that but they could’ve at least brought him back in a special way

What other way would have been better? He came back in a tag match with Shane McMahon and then a few days later was in a match with the World Champ.

Can't lie, still a fan but I was willing to be him up on that Rock/Austin tier due to pops. This return has been :patrice: so definitely ain't on that tier, I'll take a L if necessary

According to some of these Daniel Bryan SuperMarks on this forum, here's how it could have been better:

1) Opens the show by beating Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali for the Cruiserweight Title
2) Enters the IC Ladder match and beats Miz, Balor, and Rollins for the IC strap
3) Gets put into the US Title match and beats Jinder Mahal, Orton, Rusev, and Bobby Roode
4) Becomes a sub for Kurt Angle and pins Triple H at Mania (again)
5) Turns Undertaker/Cena into a Triple Threat and beats both
6) Turns AJ/Nakamura into a triple threat and wins the Smackdown title
7) Hides in the crowd and has Strowman pick him to be his tag partner, and then beat The Bar by himself
8) Challenges Brock Lesnar after he beat Reigns a la Hogan at Wrestlemania X and beats Lesnar for the Universal Title

Even if all this happened, some of these idiots on here would still complain about Hunter, Vince, or Steph holding him down. I know these dweebs feel Daniel Bryan represents them as a Craft Brewery Tour guide who, despite his short stature, made himself a force in the business, but he is far from transcendent. Nobody is trying to cast Daniel Bryan as a lead, second lead, third lead, fourth lead, fifth lead, or a jabroni that appears as a dead body in a movie or television show. Kimmel, Colbert, and Fallon aren't demanding WWE to have him appear on their shows. The only people who think he's "transcendent" are midgets who lost the genetic lottery and need a hero they can believe in.

Hey you can always book yourself to end a 173-0 streak with your drunk friend using a cattle prod instead

Looks like a troll thread based in knowing very little about wrestling. Daniel Bryan is one of the most beloved guys they’ve ever had coming back after 3+ years. Miz is the ready made return storyline after two years of build. Bryan also abdicated the world title in 2014. Miz has a new show on the USA Network. This clearly appears to be a build to a championship program between Bryan & Miz probably at Summerslam combining both long building storylines & promoting Miz new show by making him a main eventer. Miz should win the MITB & cash in on AJ. Problem solved.

His contract is up in September right?

If they don't renew beforehand, I don't know if we get that payoff :sadcam:

Plus that's a damn Mania level payoff and they know it
